Grey's is a local dive with a lot of charm and the best house-made ranch in the entire city! They're also where we go to pub trivia every Wednesday with our friends. They have a wide variety of sandwiches and burgers, as well as some pretty awesome wings. If you go, tell Kim behind the bar that we sent you!
Hops is a place we highly recommend! They offer a great selection of different burgers, as well as some to die for sweet potato fries. In addition to food, they also offer a vast selection of local craft beers to try with your meal. We've been on a few dates here, but even more, Hops can always be relied on to supply some solid wings at every party we have (usually courtesy of Justin).
If you're feeling adventurous, or just want a lighter, healthier dinner, Pokebowl on Elm is a great place to try! One of Audrey's favorite restaurants, this place offers a wide variety of vegetable and sushi-style toppings for their rice bowls. Bonus: if you're feeling shy or just overwhelmed by the amount of options, you can order via a paper slip with all the different toppings written out for you!
The Bicentennial Garden in Greensboro is beautiful, but the Bog Garden is an underrated gem. It's full of ducks and carefully conserved species of plants, amphibians, and insects. You can take a calming walk down the peer-like wooden pathway to the edge of the water, or meander up by the babbling water fixture and the giant rock benches arranged in a ring beneath the trees. If a relaxing morning in nature is what you need, we highly recommend this place.
Troy's local comic book store, this place has whatever superheroes you might be into. And if they don't, you can be certain they will get it for you within the week!
The local bookshop of Greensboro, Scuppernong has a great assortment of fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, horror, and kids' books, all tucked away in a little corner off of Elm Street. The shop owners have been keeping the shelves stocked with a variety of carefully curated titles for decades, and Taylor has yet to buy anything from Scuppernong that she did not like. If you're looking for your next good read, consider checking them out!
This is the best place in town to find records, and Troy has been an avid customer for years. Whether its modern indie or classic country, any album is bound to pass through Hippo at least once, and it's yours if you can snatch it before someone else does.
If you're looking to have a drink at the end of the evening, Dram and Draught cannot be recommended highly enough. A cocktail bar stocked with every spirit imaginable, the bartenders here create a new menu of unique and varied mixed drinks every few months. Whether you prefer things light and sweet or strong and smoky, you can come back here again and again and never have the same thing twice. They offer low and non-alcoholic drinks as well, so designated drivers and sober friends can enjoy their complex recipes too. If a night out appeals to you, visiting here is a rare treat that shouldn't be missed!
