10/10 coffee shop in Duck- A MUST DO when in town!
NC Coast Grill & Bar
One of our favorite restaurants- a little nicer dining experience but beyond delicious foods, especially seafood, and really beautiful views of the sound! They offer a "Chef's Speciality Board" that is a variety of seafood and perfect to share- it is REALLY good!!
Wild Goose Bar
Super small and cute wine shop that has a "pour your own" selection- enjoy some charcuterie while you are there too!
Whalehead Brewery
Another "pour your own" in town- next to the Food Lion, this fun brewery has a tap wall and also delicious wood fire pizza!
Brew Thru Corolla
A DRIVE THRU BEER STORE Literally so cool, they sell beer & seltzers & a limited selection of wines and champagne. Totally try to drive thru if you can!
Food Lion or Harris Teeter
These are the two recommended grocery stores. Harris Teeter is a little more fancy and located in Corolla, right outside of Duck, so further from the 4x4 area. If you want something special, I would check them out on your way! Food Lion is located right in Corolla and will have mostly everything you will need! This is the main store that we visit when we are in town.
Historic Corolla Village Shops and Lighthouse
Check out the original village of Corolla NC that features the stunning lighthouse, a number of cute little shops, and is right next to the Whalehead Club which is a wonderful spot to sit and watch the sunset over the sound!
Corolla Adventure Mini Golf
Check out this 3 course mini-golf park that is so fun for everyone (especially after a trip to the brewery!)
Corolla Adventure Park
*We have never been* BUT this adventure park is right in Corolla and offers a variety of activities including zip lining, obstacle courses, and axe throwing! We heard it even has a new bar inside that opened up recently too!
Corolla Watersports
If the weather is stunning, we would highly recommend consider renting kayaks! We have used this company for years and have rented both kayaks for the ocean and sound before. There are multiple locations throughout town that offer access to the sound to go kayaking- with the most popular spot being at the Whalehead Club.
Wright Brothers National Memorial
Located in Kill Devil Hills and probably a little over an hour from where we will be- this memorial is in honor of the Wright Brothers and where they launched their first airplane! If there is a more chilly day that you want to sneak away from the beach to do something fun, this is a great place to visit!
Jennette's Pier and Aquarium
Another cool spot to visit on the day that you want to escape the beach- located in Nags Head, this pier is a long fishing pier with beautiful views. Right next door is the small aquarium that is an educational aquarium and is fun to take kids!
