When should I RSVP by?

What is the schedule?

Doors at Wild Basin Lodge will open at 3:30 pm and our ceremony is scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm. Cocktail hour and reception will follow.

What is the dress code?

Our wedding dress code is formal. For women, this means a long evening gown, and for men, a suit and tie are appropriate. Please keep in mind our ceremony will be outdoors in November. Your warmth and comfort is priority.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Great question! It's a bit of a mystery every year what the weather will do in November. The average temperature in Allenspark in November is in the 40s, and there is always the potential for snow. We recommend checking the weather before you pack and bringing layers. Reminder, as long as the weather cooperates, we are planning to have our ceremony outdoors. We recognize it is winter in the mountains and are planning to keep outside time to a minimum but please dress accordingly. Coats are perfectly acceptable! Additionally, Wild Basin Lodge confirmed with us that Allenspark has a private fleet of snowplows that ensure the mountain roads are safe and clear for travelers in the case of snowfall.

Will I have cell service at the venue?

Answer

You will not have cell service at our venue. It is in a fairly secluded area right at the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Forest. However, our venue has wifi that all guests will be able to connect to if they desire. Google or apple maps will continue to work as long as they are loaded when connected to the venue wifi. We will have printed directions available at the end of the night to get back to Estes Park and Lyons. Please note that in this same vein, Uber and other rideshares do not service the venue.

What if I'm not acclimated to elevation?

We know many of our family members will be coming from all over the country, often from places of low elevation. Our venue is at approximately 8,000 ft. Be aware that the adjustment can be difficult at first especially if you've never travelled to elevation before. We ask that you keep the following recommendations in mind so that we can all have a great time celebrating together in the mountains: (1) If you have the ability, travel to Denver or Estes Park a day early and allow for your body to adjust to the altitude. (2) Stay Hydrated! This is especially important if you consume alcohol during your trip. (3) Take time to rest if you need it.
