Our story started in our freshman year of high school. Daniel says he first saw me during freshman orientation, running across the quad. From that moment on, we couldn’t help but notice each other. We spent our high school years navigating the ups and downs of young love, going from friends to dating to maybe-not-so-friendly (I might’ve been a bit of a handful—oops). Shoutout to Leigh for giving Daniel the extra push to ask me out in the first place—without that, who knows where we’d be today? After graduation, life took us down different paths, but fate had other plans. We ran into each other while working together at Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl and Grill, and even though we didn’t realize it at the time, something special was starting to grow between us. A few years later, we found our way back to each other and quickly picked up where we left off. Our first official date was at the California Academy of Sciences, where we spent the whole day surrounded by nature and wonder, discovering just how much we had in common—and how right it all felt. Fast forward six years, a bunch of memories, and four years of living together (cats included), Daniel proposed in the very place where our journey officially began: the Rainforest Habitat at the California Academy of Sciences. It was the perfect full-circle moment, marking the beginning of our next adventure—forever.
