No problem! Belize Pro Dive Center has plenty of other options to offer. You can go snorkeling in the Hol Chan Marine Preserve and see tons of sea life, or you can even do the Discover Suba course, where you learn the basics in a pool and then go inside the reef! Taylor and Jackie both did their first dive together through this program! If you want to get certified, you should complete your classwork and pool work at home, and then do your open water dives in Belize. Reach out to us and we would be happy to explain more!
Even better! Belize Pro Dive Center offers several different tours. Our favorite is the morning 2-tank dive. You will be picked up at the dock of Grand Caribe around 8:15, and get back around noon. The two tank local dive takes you to two of the many famous spots outside the reef. If you're in the mood for a more intense trip, provided there are enough people signed up, Belize Pro Dive Center does day trips to Turneffe Atoll and the Blue Hole as well.
While we highly recommend the small flight, there is the option to take a ferry from the mainland to the island. To take the ferry, you can take a taxi from Belize International to the ferry terminal. This taxi runs $25USD and takes 30min. From the ferry terminal, the ride takes about 2 hours to arrive to San Pedro, and costs around $40USD round trip. Because of this added hassle, and relative cost to the flight, we highly recommend the 15min flight. Please reach out if you have any additional questions.
We recommend you stay for around 7 days. Please check out the "things to do" page for all our recommendations!
Your passport just needs to be valid for the length of your stay. You do not need a visa for a US passport. If you are not a US citizen, please check with your version of the state department to determine if a visa is required. The island is very safe. We have never experienced any issues in San Pedro or on the island.

We have travelled several times to Belize during COVID, and we are confident in the mitigations that the government has enacted. See this link for more info: https://belizetourismboard.org/

Outside of Grand Caribe, we recommend only drinking bottled water. At Grand Caribe, the water is filtered and safe to drink.
The Belize Dollar is used and is a fixed 2:1 ratio to the USD. This means that a $10US bill is equal to $20BZ. USD and BZD are both accepted for payment in Belize, as are most major credit carts. There is no need to exchange money before the trip. When paying with cash, you may receive both USD and BZD back, which is totally okay, but do some quick mental math.
English is the primary language of Belize. Spanish and Belizean Kriol are also spoken by many.
You can expect mid-70s to mid-80s in November, with some intermittent rain. We recommend bringing your typical beach clothes, plus maybe a sweater for the night.
