The Downwright Gabbler is a very unique dining experience located in Beauly. It is a small, family owned business that is centered around serving authentic Scottish cuisine and educating others about the culture and history of Scotland through great storytelling.
Tomatin Distillery
Tomatin is a great distillery that is local to Inverness. They host various tours and tastings that are designed to walk you through the whiskey-making process, teach you about the history of the distillery, and pour you some amazing drams!
MacGregor's
MacGregor's is a popular local pub in Inverness that is owned by Bruce MacGregor- a very well known fiddle player! They have live music everyday and offer the Highland Malt Whiskey Experience, which is a unique whiskey tasting that incorporates music, an extensive retelling of Scottish Highland history, and 5 drams of scotch!
Culloden Moor
Culloden Moor is the site where the Battle of Culloden took place on April 16, 1746. This brutal battle marked the final and bloody end to the Jacobite Rebellion. The battlefield is now a museum and a memorial for the Jacobite soldiers who lost their lives that day.
Clava Cairns
The Clava Cairns are the remains of a Bronze Age cemetery dating back over 4,000 years. This ancient burial site features unique standing stones that have influenced numerous pieces of Scottish folklore and famously served as the inspiration for Craigh na Dun, the time-traveling stone circle in Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series.
Jacobite Loch Ness Cruises
Jacobite Cruises is a company that provides boat tours of the infamous Loch Ness! The cruise gives an opportunity to see a unique perspective of the Scottish Highlands and historical sites like Urquhart Castle. While finding "Nessie" is unlikely, the cruises offer fascinating commentary about the loch's history, geology, and legends, making it very relaxing and informative.
Quila Cridhe Tearoom at Drumbuie Farm
Drumbuie Farm is a fully functional farm, bed and breakfast, and tearoom! They offer an incredible highland coo themed afternoon tea experience which consists of a set menu and an opportunity to feed, pet, and take pictures with some of their highland coos!
The Loch Ness Centre
The Loch Ness Centre serves as a museum focused on the famous Loch Ness and it's legendary creature, the Loch Ness Monster (Nessie). The centre provides interactive exhibits about the history, science, and myths surrounding Loch Ness. It's a great place to learn about the loch's natural environment and the many investigations into Nessie's existence.
Hootananny
Hootananny is a lively and multi-award winning pub located in Inverness. They serve great traditional Scottish food and have live music every night performed by local artists that specialize in various genres (e.g., bag pipers, singers, fiddlers, guitarists, and even ceilidh bands/dancers!).
The Malt Room
The Malt Room is Inverness' very first dedicated whiskey bar! They serve a wide selection of malts, cocktails, beer, and wine. The bar has a very cozy and intimate vibe, with couches and chairs for lounging while you enjoy a dram or a cocktail!

Edinburgh Castle is one of Scotland's most iconic landmarks! Steeped in centuries of history, it offers breathtaking views of the city and a fascinating glimpse into Scotland's royal past. Midhope Castle (Outlander's Lallybroch)
Best known as "Lallybroch" from the Outlander series, this 16th-century tower house is located just outside of Edinburgh and offers a glimpse into the romance of the Scottish countryside. Though the interior is not open to visitors, the atmospheric exterior and surrounding grounds make it a beautiful stop for photos.
Hopetoun House
Just a short drive from Edinburgh, Hopetoun House is one of Scotland's grandest stately homes. Surrounded by sweeping parkland and elegant gardens, this magnificent 18th-century estate offers a glimpse into the country's aristocratic past. Fans of Outlander will recognize several filming locations scattered throughout the house and grounds, where many memorable scenes were brought to life.

A cozy local favorite just off of the Royal Mile, The Edinburgh Larder is known for its fresh, seasonal ingredients and welcoming atmosphere. Stop by for their delicious full Scottish breakfast and a perfectly spiced chai tea, both of which are Tayber and Shayne approved! It's the best spot to start your morning before a day of exploring Edinburgh!
Lannan Bakery & Pantry
Lannan Bakery is well worth the hype it receives on social media and definitely a must try for pastry lovers! They are known for their beautifully layered pastries, rich flavors, and minimalist style. This bakery has become TikTok famous, and for good reason! Whether you like sweet, savory, flaky, or gooey, they truly have it all and everything is amazing!
The Scran and Scallie
A modern gastropub with all the warmth of a true Scottish welcome, The Scran and Scallie is a must-visit in Edinburgh's Stockbridge neighborhood. Their fish pie is nothing short of incredible, and the sticky toffee pudding is the best we've had in all of Scotland (and we've tried a lot!). The service is just as memorable as our waiter was so personable and genuine, he felt more like a friend than a server. Cozy, delicious, and full of heart, it's a dinner that will be difficult to forget!
Stockbridge Eating House
Tucked away in the charming neighborhood of Stockbridge, The Stockbridge Eating House is a small and intimate spot serving comforting dishes packed with big flavor. The atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming, it easily became one of our favorite meals of the trip. We can't recommend this place enough!
The Outsider
Overlooking the rooftops of Edinburgh's Old Town, The Outsider offers one of the city's most beautiful views of Edinburgh Castle. The restaurant's menu is handwritten each day, reflecting a focus on fresh, ever-changing seasonal dishes. With its relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, and unforgettable backdrop, it's the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch or romantic dinner!
The Witchery
The Witchery is a restaurant located right next door to Edinburgh Castle in a collection of historic buildings on the royal mile dating back to 1595. This site is rooted in centuries of Scottish history, primarily for its close proximity to the main location where hundreds of men and women who were accused of witchcraft met their deaths. This gothic history inspired the restaurants name!
Panda & Sons
Disguised behind the façade of an old-fashioned barbershop, Panda & Sons is a dark, vintage speakeasy that blends old-world charm with cutting edge creativity. Inside, you can order expertly crafted cocktails that have been created using innovative freezing techniques that transform classic flavors into something entirely new. With its moody ambiance, clever concept, and unforgettable drinks, it's one of Edinburgh's most unique and memorable bars.
