4:00 pm
5:00 pm
This event is very casual and requires clothing that allows easy movement!
Historically, highland games were used throughout Scottish history within the clan system to help determine the fittest warriors and test their strength. Today, they are put on annually to celebrate Celtic culture and heritage across the world. Our version of the highland games will consist of the Furtado and Lima clans competing against one another to determine which clan is the strongest! The games will commence on the front lawns of the estate.
8:00 pm
This is a smart casual event and guests are encouraged to wear something relaxed and polished.
We would like everyone to join us for dinner the night before the wedding to welcome and celebrate all of our guests! Food and drinks will be served on the front lawns and in the reception rooms.
8:00 am - 10:00 am
There is no need to dress up for this event. If you wish to have breakfast in your pajamas, that is totally fine!
Breakfast will be served in the dining room.
1:00 pm
All nuptial events taking place on our wedding day are formal. Ladies can wear jumpsuits or dresses of various lengths, and gentlemen can wear a suit and tie.
The ceremony will be taking place outdoors (weather permitting) near the front lawn gardens. It is important to be mindful of your choice of footwear as the grass can get softer due to the unpredictable weather in Scotland. Please be punctual to the ceremony and try to arrive 15 minutes early.
2:00 pm
Drinks and canapés will be served during this time on the front patio and in the reception rooms.
4:00 pm
In Scotland, the dinner reception is referred to as the "wedding breakfast" due to it being the very first meal a newlywed couple shares together as man and wife. Wedding celebrations are more formal in Scotland than in the United States and the layout of dinner will look a little differently than you are used to. During the wedding breakfast, no dancing will take place as it is specifically designed for everyone to experience and enjoy a formal meal together. This is a time to dine, drink, and connect with the people around you. Our wedding breakfast will take place in the ballroom.
7:15 pm
Various teas and freshly brewed coffee will be served in the drawing room.
8:15 pm
Dancing will take place in the ballroom. The castle is like your home during your stay, so even though the bar will stop serving drinks at 1:00am, you are more than welcome to continue mingling and partying for as long as you would like. There is no set time for guests to retire back to their rooms.
8:00 am
All guests are welcome to join us for a send-off breakfast in the ballroom prior to checking out.
