This is our favorite view of the bridge with the best sunset in the entire park! We will be hiking this on Thursday evening for anyone who chooses to come stay in the park early with us! See the Adventure in the Park page for more information!
Great climbing area and amazingly cool hike! Though the hike is very short, you will have to use a climbing rope to walk up a rock face (it is awesome!). The view is spectacular! Less crowded that Long Point, better view too. https://www.earthtrekkers.com/best-hikes-in-new-river-gorge-national-park/
Bridge Walk offers guided tours of the New River Gorge Bridge from the catwalk 25’ beneath the Bridge. The tours are 2-3 hours in length. The catwalk is 24″ wide and 3,030 feet in length! Bridge tours move along at a leisurely pace and there is plenty of time to stop for photos, and to discuss features of the Bridge, New River Gorge and National Park with your guide. Starting at $72/person.
The Upper New River is known for its friendly Class I-III rapids. However, the Lower New River is notorious for it's advanced Class IV+ rapids with drenching waves. The New River offers remarkable scenery while passing abandoned mining towns and lush canyon walls rising 1400 feet!
TiberTrek is a 4-acre, 60-platform course of bridges, nets, and ziplines. Moontrek follows the same course AT NIGHT. You’ll begin on the easiest course, and each subsequent adventure will increase in difficulty until you’ve completely worn yourself out; you’ll definitely be ready to hit the sack back at your camp or cabin after MoonTrek! Price: $54/adult, $37/under 12.
See some amazing and up close views of the bridge without ever leaving your car! The Fayette Station Road winds down into the gorge on a series of two- and one-way roads, passing under the New River Gorge Bridge twice and features multiple exhibits along the road. At the bottom, cross over the reconstructed Fayette Station Bridge, which reopened in 1998 as the Tunney Hunsaker Bridge. Entire road trip takes 40 minutes without stops, but we recommend stopping to take it all in!
