Welcome

We are so thankful to have you in our lives and we cannot wait to celebrate our wedding with you as our guests! There are only a few more weeks until we say I do! Please note that the address has changed from the one listed on the paper invite. The correct locations are reflected on this website in the "Weekend in the Woods" tab.

How we met

We met in the summer of 2018. Taylor just moved to White Sulphur Springs to complete an internship with Greenbrier Outfitters and Mikayla was living in Salem, VA for her internship at the VA Medical Center. While Taylor was there full-time, Mikayla only worked occasional weekends. Our first weekend working together, our boss introduced us: "Taylor, this is Mikayla. Mikayla, this is Taylor. You are both single." We wish we could say things took off from there; however, at the end of summer, Mikayla moved to South Carolina for school and we didn't see each other for the next year. May 26, 2019, we went on our first date! Since then, we have shared adventures and travels, lived long distance (twice), graduations, job changes, lived together through a pandemic, and adopted our golden, Ziva! Now we will stand before our family and friends to share vows, cake, and a last name.

The Proposal

07. 29. 2021

McCall, Idaho has always been a special place for Taylor and his family. They had vacationed here since his mom was a little girl and every year since. In 2020, Mikayla was introduced to Idaho (and all the family there) and immediately fell in love! Tay said he had always pictured proposing in McCall. In July 2021, we fly out to Idaho for vacation. On Thursday, most of the family embarked on the 1.5 mile hike to Lake Louie, a hiking favorite the previous year. We picked huckleberries, played with the drone, and climbed the huge rocks around the lake. The group was ready to hike back to the car so Tay asked for a last second photo. After a few seconds, he kneeled down and asked "would you marry me?", while cousins and aunts yelled loud enough to spook a moose (sorry to the family on the shore near us enjoying your lunch, but we were very excited). There was lots of happy tears, hugs, and cake. The day couldn't have been more perfect!
