Getting to Mammoth Lakes
Mammoth Lakes is a little mountain town, and getting there is part of the adventure! Whether you’re driving or flying, here are the easiest ways to make the trip.
Driving to Mammoth
From Southern California: Mammoth is about a 5–6 hour drive from Southern California cities. The most popular route is US-395 North, a scenic drive through the Eastern Sierra.
From Northern California: It’s about a 5–6 hour drive from Northern California cities via Tioga Pass, Sonora Pass, or Yosemite routes.
Flying to Mammoth
From Out of State: Guests can fly into Los Angeles (LAX) or Reno, NV, then rent a car. It’s roughly a 5-hour drive from LA or a 3-hour drive from Reno.
Bishop Airport: Located 45 minutes south of Mammoth, Bishop offers seasonal direct flights from select cities, often including Los Angeles and San Francisco.
