Question

What are your Covid-19 safety measures?

Answer

For our guests’ safety, we are requiring that all adults in attendance be vaccinated against COVID-19. You might also like to know that the wedding ceremony will be outside, the dinner will be in a tent, and the dancing will be in a non-weather tight barn (in other words, plenty of air circulation).

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

For the wedding, wear a comfortable celebratory outfit. That could be a Hawaiian shirt and some crisp denim, or maybe it’s a suit. We do not recommend shoes with narrow heels because we will be on grass a lot of the time. If you are attending the rehearsal dinner, please don’t dress up! Wear whatever you would wear to a BBQ, be prepared to get lobster juice on you! Be sure to bring layers to all events! Coastal Maine weather is unpredictable; it could get chilly, rainy, or both.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Absolutely! We love your kiddos and want them to participate in all the celebrations if you want them to be there. If you are looking for babysitting for the night of the wedding, please let us know, and we can make some recommendations.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict capacity limit at the venue, so the wedding is RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Aren’t you guys married already?

Answer

Yes! We eloped in Philadelphia on 12.12.20. Since Covid delayed our wedding plans, we decided to get the paperwork part out of the way early. We knew we still wanted to have a ‘real’ wedding later on when it was safe. We’re so excited to celebrate with all of you this summer.

Question

I got invited to another wedding in Philly; what’s going on here?

Answer

To celebrate with all our family and friends, we are having two wedding celebrations in 2022. One in Maine and one in Philadelphia. If you are invited to both, you can choose to come to both or either. Choose whatever makes the most sense for you.

Question

How should we get to the wedding venue?

Answer

There is no public transportation or car services like Uber in the Blue Hill peninsula, so driving will be the only way to get to the wedding. We encourage people to carpool since the parking at the venue is just the side of the road. If you do not have transportation, please let us know and we can try to arrange something. Of course, we encourage everyone to designate a driver ahead of time if folks plan to drink. For those who want to party into the night with us, you are highly welcome and encouraged to bring gear to camp in the backyard or sleep in the barn. There’s no need to worry about parking at the rehearsal BBQ; there will be plenty of space.

Question

Can I give a speech?

Answer

We'll be doing speeches at the rehearsal BBQ. If you are attending the BBQ and would like to give a speech, we would love it!

Question

Why Maine?

Answer

It’s where Tara’s from, and Sam lived in Portland for three years running his food truck. We both think it’s a beautiful and unique place. We can’t wait to share it with more people we love.

Question

How can I prepare for a summer weekend in Maine?

Answer

Hopefully, we’ll have warm days, but the nights will surely get chilly. Bring some warm clothes to be prepared. This time of year mosquitos, black flies, and ticks may also be out. Bring bug spray to be prepared. If you spend extended time outdoors, especially in tall grasses or the woods, do a thorough tick check when you get back inside.
