Nussen is Carly's right hand man / soul sista / sun sista / etc., and vice versa. They met when Carly started visiting Matt in Columbus because Nussen was dating Matt's roommate, Jeff, who yes, is the Best Man which yes, is funny because no, they are not still dating. Thank you guys for dating when you did because that's how Carly got her best friend ☀️ You didn't see Carly and Nussen doing much of anything without each other when Carly lived in Columbus. They still Facetime every Tuesday (even though they are several states away) to drink wine and watch trashy tv. Nussen lives in Columbus working as a Guidance Counselor and recently moved into a new house with her partner, Jared! Nussen also does not have a first name.

Jeff Richards

Best Man

Matt and Jeff became friends in middle school through hockey and they have been like brothers ever since. They pushed each other to be top of their class in school, leaders on the hockey team, and hellions on weekends. They both went to Ohio State and not only did they live together for 6 consecutive years, but they co-parented the best bull dog on this side of the Mississippi River, Gus. These two have shared countless memories and life events that they'll remember forever. Jeff is a Collections Compliance Advisor and lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife Bethany, pup Bentley, and less crisp bulldog, Gus.

Kelsey Brosius

Kelsey is Carly's sister-in-law but you can ignore the "in-law" part because they should have been born sisters. They say the same things, laugh at simple eye contact, and even start sounding alike when they're together for more than 3 days. It's also funny that Kelsey's title is "Matron" because she is now an old married lady. Kelsey lives in Ida Grove, Iowa with her husband Eric (Carly's brother) and they are not having children soon so don't bother asking.

Luke Meissner

The ultimate wild card –Luke can go from charming grandmothers at a nursing home to going out all night at the casino with an impromptu dance performance on stage..to wake up at 8am and close the biggest sale of his life. As best friends, Matt and Luke have been through a lot together, including exchanging middle school girlfriends and having their car jammed horizontally under a semi on the highway...while they were in it. Luke is a Senior Sales Executive in Chicago and lives with his partner, Tracey and their weenie dog, Moxon.

Erin Rasmussen

Erin has been Carly's ride or die since 2nd grade. They may or may not have gotten into some trouble in their years growing up, and that may or may not still be happening to this day. Carly had to pick up Erin for their first day of senior year of high school because Erin was grounded from their party the night before (I had to throw that in there...) Erin's house is Carly's second home, and her family is Carly's second family. Erin is living in Omaha, Nebraska working as a NICU Nurse at Creighton Medical Center.

Eddie Abraham

Eddie is Matt's longest and bestest friend, and also cousin. They started out as young kids pretending to be police officers while dating MaryKate and Ashley. Beginning in middle school they went camping together every summer for almost a decade. They also have the least exciting but most special goodbye tradition that they'll keep forever ("ahhh"). Eddie is the closest thing to a brother that Matt will ever have, and he's always there when needed, always. Eddie works in outside sales and lives in Akron, Ohio.

Christa Jensen

Carly and Christa also met at Ten Mile Lake! (Thank goodness for TML, am I right??) Christa is married to Martin who met Carly back in the day at Ten Mile. Christa has been there to witness Carly and Matt's relationship from the very beginning, and vice versa. And there hasn't been a milestone in each other's lives that they've missed since. Christa works as a physical therapist and lives in Delaware, Ohio with her husband, Martin, and their two pups, Maya and Baxter.

Martin Jensen

Matt met Martin (aka Marty) through hockey in middle school and it was their friendship that brought two rival school groups together. Martin invited Matt to his lake house in Minnesota one summer and that happened to be the same lake that Carly went to, which is how Matt and Carly met. Martin not only introduced Matt to his future wife but continues to be a lifelong friend. Martin is a trusted advisor to Matt for smoking meat, household projects and how to build pretty much anything. Speaking of big measurements... Martin works as a Maintenance Supervisor and lives in Delaware, Ohio with his wife Christa and their two pups, Maya and Baxter.

Samantha Bortle

Sam/Sammy/Sportle was Carly's roommate throughout college and they were pretty much inseparable for those 2 years in their Beach Avenue apartment. Some of Carly's favorite memories from college are when her and Sam would decide to NOT go out on a Friday night and they would rent movies from Blockbuster (wut) and eat a ton of popcorn. Carly and Sam really love celebrating Earth Day together. Sam has recently become a 2nd grade teacher (go Sammy!) and lives in the beautiful Door County, WI.

Tyler Warden

It was Tyler and his house that turned enemies into best friends during 7th grade football. It wasn't a good Friday night if everyone wasn't meeting up in Tyler's basement for some good old fashion underage drinking (sorry mom). Tyler's humor and spontaneity are a couple qualities that make him so fun to be around. If a song comes on that hits him just right, the world becomes his dance floor. Tyler is more than a good friend, he's a brother for life. Tyler is a Dental Hygienist and lives in Columbus, Ohio.

Taylor Bogue

Taylor is Carly's absolute longest friend. They grew up in Lake LaJune together and were able to walk to each other's houses growing up. Carly and Taylor went from playing Dream Phone and Pretty Pretty Princess (and Furbies but Carly forced Taylor to play because Taylor hated furbies) to throwing parties in high school that they SWEAR never got out of control.......... Carly can always count on Taylor to pick up those important Facetime calls and have it feel like no time has passed at all. Taylor is now a Physician Assistant and lives in St. Louis, MO with her sweet pup Abbott!

Matt Stewart

Stew (aka Larry) began as a crosstown rival. Through the friendship of Martin, Matt and Stew became good friends. They became even better friends in college and roommates at Ohio State. Stew, Matt and Jeff became regulars at a local campus bar called Fourth Street. It was at this bar that Stew managed to get kicked out twice in the same night, and barked in the face of their current professor's dog. Stew brings the perfect balance of dignified lawyer on the weekdays and Busch-light guzzling, loud, barbarian on the weekends. Stew works as a Civil Litigation Attorney and lives in Columbus with the best dog ever, Bear.

Amy Nielsen

Amy was Carly's very first friend in college after joining their sorority. They immediately latched onto each other because quite frankly that process was terrifying and they both needed friendly faces. Amy was and still is a constant in Carly's life. Carly had the privilege of standing next to Amy at her wedding in 2018 when she married her college sweetheart, Drew. Amy works as a middle school FCS teacher and lives in Shenandoah, Iowa with her husband, Drew, their 2 year old goddess baby, Grady, and their giant polar bear pup, Hank.

Eric Brosius

Eric started out as the brother of a girl that Matt really liked. Now he's turned into a friend who also happens to be related to the woman he's going to marry. Eric and Matt have built countless memories on family vacations and summers at the lake. Eric encourages Matt to expand his free thought, in a way that brings people together. Matt and Eric share a similar "work hard, play hard" mentality and they don't skimp on either. Eric works as an engineer and lives in Ida Grove, Iowa with his wife Kelsey.

Tanya France

Tanya is a college friend of Carly's. And to be honest, Carly and Tanya weren't too fond of each other for the first few years in school. It was after a hallway incident in the sorority house when Tanya desperately needed help curling her hair and Carly stepped up to help her out. Tanya's personality is impossible to not fall in love with and Carly finally realized that. Tanya now lives in Ithaca, NY getting her PhD in Animal Sciences at Cornell University, with her research focus being on dairy cattle nutrition. She also has a couple cats that Matt and Carly pretend to not like.

Will Chacon

Matt and Will became great friends their freshman year at Ohio State. They lived on the same floor in the dorms and navigated through the adventures of college together. Will even became Matt's boss one summer doing exterior house painting. Didn't go so well, Will got stung by a bee and Matt called the paramedics, and later in the summer Matt fell off a ladder. Matt and Will share interests of traveling, adventuring and pushing each other to run, bike, and lift (even 2500 miles apart). Will is a Production Systems Coach and lives in San Diego with his wife, Erin and their dog, Leo.

Mattie Bruning

Mattie (Thew) is another Iowa State OG. Carly and Thew were always the ones to get the party going bright and early and were always the last ones to go to sleep. And they still probably are those people even though it hurts a little more now. They can't keep a straight face when having a conversation with each other and have more inside jokes together than any person on the planet, probably. Mattie is now living out her best life in Nashville, TN working as a nanny/private therapist.

Kyle Stephensen

Matt and Kyle began as friends in middle/high school and were reunited when they both ended up moving to Raleigh, NC in 2020. They joined adult softball leagues to meet people and quickly became go-to friends for golfing, exercising and nights on the town. Kyle, Matt and Carly are a trio in Raleigh and enjoy weekend trips to the beach in North Carolina. There's never a challenge or adventure too great, and that mindset is what makes Kyle, Kyle. He lives in Raleigh, NC and is a Sales Representative for a dental services company.

Jessie Pauley

Jessie is one of Carly's closest friends from growing up in Ida Grove. Jessie and Carly did everything on opposite ends of the spectrum in high school (except remember when you ran hurdles one season, Jess? lol) but they were each other's biggest supporters. Jessie never missed a beat when it came to Carly's dance competitions, dance recitals, or even her piano recitals, and Carly never missed a beat with Jessie's basketball schedule. Jessie is also the only person that Carly allows to pick her up when they're hugging. Jessie now lives in Fort Collins, Colorado getting her doctorate in Clinical Psychology and lives with her partner, Kyrie and their puppy, Rae!

Jourdan has been a great friend since middle school. Matt would stay the night on Thursday nights in high school and they would spend almost every minute together until the upcoming Monday. Jourdan and Matt have a list of stories together that they'll remember for a lifetime. More recently, they have developed shared interest in business and expanding upon their future goals. Jourdan is a Gypsy & Contractor for his family business, Rosehill Roofing in Columbus, Ohio.

Valencia Taggart

Valencia is Carly's soon-to-be niece! Even though Carly has felt like family to Valencia from the day she met her, she is very excited to officially be her aunt. One of Carly's favorite things about Matt is his beautiful relationship with Valencia. Carly has more nicknames for Valencia than anyone: Len, Leonard, Lens, V, but the go-to name is Valarnia or Velociraptor on a really good day. Valencia lives in Columbus, Ohio with her mom Jenny (Matt's sister) and Khaled. Her favorite subjects in school are science and English.

Robert Perrine

Matt and Robert became great friends in middle school. They have gone through life together in various phases and all with a bunch of laughter. While they haven't always lived close to each other after college, they pick up right where they left off each time they reunite. It's like an old bottle of ketchup that you forgot was in your car. Still going to taste delicious with that side of fries. Robert is a Foremen in New Jersey and lives with his partner Taylor and their children Sienna, Skylar, Easton & Emerson.

Anastasia is Matt's niece, her parents are Anne (Matt's sister) and Tyler Noblet. She likes princesses, pink, and anything girly.

Theo is Matt's nephew, his parents are Anne (Matt's sister) and Tyler Noblet. Matt believes Theo is going to be a quarterback in the NFL because the kid already has an arm.
