It was the spring of their senior year at Ithaca College, where friendship took precedence over class and late night memories took priority over sleep. After a couple years of being acquaintances, Jess and Trevor realized that they got along pretty well and started spending more time together as senior year progressed. Graduation was quickly approaching - which meant Trevor was moving to North Carolina to start work in the finance world and Jess was returning to Ithaca to finish her Master's degree....and so the "I don’t want anything serious" conversation took place. Despite putting parameters on the "friendship", they found themselves spending nearly every day with one another until graduation. Despite saying "it will never work with the distance" they spent the next year falling asleep on facetime regularly and visiting each other at every opportunity. Finally, Jess and Trevor stopped denying the connection and decided to try it out- commitment and all. In summer 2015, Jess decided to move to Charlotte and the rest is history. Side by side, Jess and Trevor focused on their individual careers while also growing together in a new city. Through kickball, beer ball, and a lot of shenanigans, they created a community they consider family in Charlotte. After nearly 2 years of "not dating," 6 years as roommates, 6+ months of quarantine together, and a looming move to New England, Jess and Trevor's relationship was stronger than ever before. On August 1st, 2020, Trevor insisted on a walk in Freedom Park where he proposed. Jess was so surprised her immediate response was 'are you serious?'. Amidst the pandemic, their Charlotte family was there to celebrate their engagement. Shortly after their engagement, Jess and Trevor moved up to Massachusetts for their next adventure. They took time to enjoy a long engagement, spend more time with family, and oh yeah - buy a house! Now they look forward to celebrating their love with the most important people in their lives.
