If you are not going to Galway. Kilkenny is a short drive away from the wedding venue. The town is a great place to stop and explore.
Cliffs of Moher
The Cliffs of Moher is a MUST see in Ireland. This is located on the way to Galway or you can stop there after Galway. Bring a jacket as it is very windy!
Doolin
This is a great place to stop after or before the Cliffs of Moher. Grab lunch in a pub and enjoy the quaint town!

Great spot to grab a quick breakfast or lunch. The coffee here was so good (&Great Chai Lattes)! You can dine indoors or take it to go while you explore the town.
Kylemore Abbey
This stunning property is located 1 hour away from Galway. The Abbey has gorgeous grounds, a gothic church and dining onsite. Tickets can be purchased in advance and are reasonable.
Derry
DERRY - is an old walled town that is a fun day trip! This town is full of rich history of the troubles.
Museum of Free Derry
If you are dying to learn more about the history of this great walled city, come check out this museum! You will leave with a better understanding of the past.
Giants Causeway
Expansive views of Northern Ireland. There is an optional hike or you can simply look out from the bluff. There is the Bushmills distillery close by - which is a great post hike reward.
Rope Bridge
This hike is UNREAL on a clear day. Come cross the rope bridge for 360 views of Northern Ireland.
The Dark Hedges
If you are feeling nostalgic over Game of Thrones. Come check out the dark hedges. Even if the show was not your thing - this is a pretty walk under the shade of these cool trees!
Peace Wall Belfast
If you are looking for some Northern Ireland history- come see what is now the peace wall. This wall used to divide the town. Now the area is covered in street art and is a great sight to walk and see.
Titanic Belfast
This museum comes packed with cool facts about the Titanic and the history behind it.
Dungannon
I thought I would include the town where my soon to be husband was born and raised! Getting to walk through this town with him was one of the favorite memories. If you end up this way, check out the Hill of The O'Neill. The Hill has a great visitor center detailing some local history.
Carlingford
If you are not heading to Galway or if you are looking to explore elsewhere. Carlingford is a great spot to grab lunch and explore for the day.

Dingle
I have not been to Dingle but I hear wonderful things! If you have more time on this dreamy Island and want to head more south. Check out this charming town!
Killarney
Another place on my TO DO LIST for Ireland that I have heard nothing but great things about. More southwest on the island you will find Killarney. A magical area of lush landscapes and lakes. Worth a trip if you have the time!
Ring of Kerry
For the adventurous drivers in the group - this drive is supposed to be legendary! They also have bus tours you could take of course as well.
