Itinerant Literate is our favorite local independent bookstore. It's also the place where we got engaged! Nestled in the happening neighborhood of Park Circle, this is the perfect place to hit local books, local breweries, and local shops all in one stop.
Terrace is our favorite retro cinema showing popular and independent films. Voted one of America’s top 12 independent movie theaters, Terrace prides itself on great customer service and the largest selections of both traditional and unique concessions.
James Island County Park is one of our favorite local parks. It offers 3+ miles of paved walking trails, rock climbing, disc golf, kayak rentals, and more! Enjoy wonderful marsh views or sit and watch dogs frolicking in the pond. The park offers something for everyone!
Walk & Talk Charleston offers a ton of unique tours through downtown Charleston. Our personal favorite is the "Real Rainbow Row" tour which chronicles the LGBTQ+ history of Charleston. See a tour you like but it's not listed as available? Contact Tyler to inquire about scheduling a private tour.
While Cypress Gardens is a little bit outside of Charleston, it is one of our favorite places to visit. Cypress Gardens is a blackwater bald cypress swamp, surrounded with both boat and foot trails. Admission is $10 and includes a self-guided row boat tour (on which you will likely be humbled - at least we were). Fun fact: Cypress Gardens is where the boat scenes in The Notebook were filmed!
There are a lot of ways to catch the sunset in Charleston. If you want to stick close to Folly Beach, check out Tideline Tours Sunset Cruise. Relax and enjoy the dolphins leaping alongside your boat as you cruise to Morris Island Lighthouse.
Sandlapper Sunset Cruise guarantees a relaxing evening gliding along Charleston’s waterways while taking in the beautiful purple-pink skies rising over the city skyline - sounds like the perfect end cap to us!
