Wedding Update

01.28.2021

What a year it has been! As many of you know, after we made the difficult decision last year to postpone our wedding, we made the decision to elope on our original date just a few weeks beforehand. We eloped during a private and intimate ceremony in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a beautiful wedding day and we can't wait to do it all over again and finally say our vows and commit ourselves in front of you! We have now officially made the decision to stick with our postponed date of May 1st, 2021. We will still have the ceremony we originally planned with dinner and reception to follow. However, as we all know the pandemic is not over, and therefore we must scale things down quite a bit. Due to restrictions, we will need to significantly decrease our guest list. It saddens us that we will not be able to celebrate with each and every one of you and apologize for those not able to attend. We thank each and every one of you for your support and understanding as we navigate the pandemic wedding process, as it has not been an easy one. We will be sending out invitations shortly or you will hear from us personally. Thank you for your love and support. Love, Joe and Susannah

Love is Patient

Change the Date: 05.01.2021

[Update: 04.15.2020] After much consideration, we have officially made the difficult decision to postpone our wedding celebration. Our family, friends, and dearest loved ones' safety is our utmost priority. We have assessed many factors as the COVID-19 situation has evolved in our country over the last few weeks. Due to the severity of the virus, it's multitude of impacts, and the uncertainty of the times right now, we do not feel it will be safe to host a large gathering on our original date of June 6th, 2020. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our guests, but again, want everyone to be as safe as possible. Please join us Saturday, May 1st, 2021 for a party to remember; a true celebration of love. We look forward to celebrating with all of you!!! If your address changes during this time, please be sure to keep us updated! ----- For those of you who have already booked accommodations with Hotel Denver Inverness, please call 303-799-5800 after April 20th, 2020 to speak with the hotel directly. Your booking will then be applied to our new block dates, 4/30/2021-5/2/2021, or however many days you had booked. We will be contacting you individually over the next week or two to ensure you have received this communication. For those who have not booked yet, and would like to go ahead and book for next year, the link will be updated on the Travel Page on 4/30/20, one year in advance of the block. The hotel is unable to generate a booking link until then. We will put an updated notice here when the link is officially updated. ----- Thank you all for your love, support, and understanding during this unprecedented time.  We wish you all the health and happiness. With all our love, Joe and Susannah

COVID-19 UPDATE

03.25.2020

We are closely monitoring the impact of Covid-19 and are evaluating the feasibility of holding our wedding on it's current date of June 6th, 2020. Our family, friends, and dear loved ones' safety is our utmost priority. If you have not yet booked travel and lodging, we recommend holding off for the time being. Please check back here for more information, as we plan to make a decision by April 21st, if not sooner. Thank you for your love, support, and understanding during this unprecedented time. With all our love, Joe and Susannah

Love At First Ski Lift

05.05.2016

Susannah moved to Denver from North Carolina as a travel nurse, only planning to stay in Colorado for six months with her roommate, Christine Andry. Susannah had never skied before she moved to Colorado, but Andry was determined to have a partner on the hill, so she rented gear for the season and Andry pushed her down a four mile (!!!) run for her first go. Needless to say, she was hooked. One day at work, a staff nurse offered to sell Susannah a 4-Pack to a nearby mountain called Loveland (Yes, the land of love, Loveland). Since neither girls had been to this mountain yet, she gladly bought them. Susannah asked Andry to go on Cinco de Mayo, the day before closing day. In true spring skiing Colorado fashion, they decided to dress for the occasion, complete with ponchos, sombreros, mustaches, and even maracas taped to Susannah's ski poles. They quickly found out the Loveland crowd was a little more serious about skiing than they were celebrating, not quite as enthusiastic as the neighboring local party mountain, A-Basin. They were pretty disappointed to realize they were literally the only two dressed up for the occasion on the entire mountain, but decided to have fun anyway and continued to play La Cucaracha on their phone as their ponchos flapped in the wind. A few hours went by and they hopped on the lift for a few more laps, when all of a sudden a tall, handsome skier started to ski below them wearing none other than a legit, grey Argentinian wool poncho. Susannah and Andry screamed and hollered in excitement as Susannah shook her maracas yelling "poncho guy!!!" as he skied underneath their chair. He looked up and waved, laughing his way down the mountain. A few hours later he found the girls at the base of the mountain, walked up with a shot of tequila, asked if he could join them, and the three skied together the rest of the day. Susannah and Joe have been inseperable ever since, and are to be wed in June, four years after that serendipitous Cinco de Mayo.
