The Beginning of Our Journey
We met on September 4th, 2023, at El Toro in downtown Indianapolis for our first date. We were both a little nervous, two people meeting and unsure what to expect, but the laughter came easy. The conversation flowed, and before we knew it, hours had passed. Neither of us wanted the night to end, so we wandered to a rooftop bar and watched the Indianapolis skyline. Then came a little plot twist: Amari started feeling sick. The next day brought the not-so-romantic news, COVID. But instead of disappearing, Sunny showed up with care, patience, and daily check-ins. A few days later, we met again at Rick’s Boatyard for a socially distanced picnic by the water. Even six feet apart, it still felt like something special. From that point on, we were pretty much inseparable. We spent most days together, taking long drives, having late-night talks, and laughing endlessly. We would drive 45 minutes across town just to spend a few hours together. Amari lived on the north side and Sunny on the west, but the distance never really mattered. Some people wondered how two different worlds might come together, but for us, it was never an issue. From the very beginning, it just worked. In between road trips, movie nights, and shared playlists, we found something real and effortless. Our story isn’t just about how we met; it’s about how naturally our lives fit together. What started with tacos, laughter, and a rooftop view turned into something deeper, a love that feels easy, grounded, and meant to be. -Love Amari & Sunny
