Our story begins at Movement Climbing Gym, where Kyle had added his information to the “Need a Climbing Partner” bulletin board. Kyle had just arrived in Colorado, his heart open to new beginnings, while Lauren was there only briefly, visiting the mountains she loved. She found his postcard, and with a simple text, set in motion a story neither of us were expecting. After a few missed connections, we finally set time up to climb outside together in the middle of Clear Creek Canyon. There was little service in the canyon, but just enough for Lauren to send her insistent dad a photo of Kyle’s license plate - just in case. We climbed together and quickly became friends, with Lauren, the local, taking Kyle, the unemployed adventurer, to all her favorite spots. For months, we enjoyed each other’s company as friends, until one day, it became more. And now, here we are, ready to climb life’s biggest adventure together.
