Jason and Leigh met in high school when both were in marching band, but definitely were not friends. It wasn't until Leigh's freshman year in college that they got to know each other better and eventually started dating (the first time - 2005). Two stints of dating later, it finally stuck!
Leigh and Jason's first date was on January 3rd, 2014. They first tried to go to TGI Friday's (and found it had closed) and then eventually shared pizza at Tony Sacco's (this restaurant also later went on to close...). After dinner, they watched Pulp Fiction. Ah, modern romance. Fun fact: Leigh and Jason have gone on many anniversary dates to restaurants that later mysteriously close. If there's a restaurant you don't like, please let us know and we'll make sure to go on an anniversary date there.
On March 16th, 2020, right as the world began to shut down, Jason suggested a walk in Bryan Park after work. Always up for walking and mobile gaming (Wizards Unite and Pokemon Go), Leigh immediately agreed. As they were making their way around the loop, Jason asked if they could stop so that he could take a picture. They stepped off of the path and Leigh continued to play her game so Jason could get his shot. Jason then said: "I have a question to ask you" and proceeded to very sweetly, very romantically propose. Leigh, of course, said yes. And then, after frantically digging around in her purse for a few minutes, proposed right back (Jason also, thankfully, said yes).
