Amanda and Rachel met right out of the womb. Amanda is Rachel’s oldest sister and the animal expert of the family. She is a veterinarian technician who has done everything, from running a whole pet grooming salon to assisting in endless amount of surgeries. Amanda is currently enjoying the newlywed life in Grand Rapids with her husband John and their many furry babies. Shannon and Rachel met right out of the womb. Shannon is Rachel’s older sister and the academic of the family. In May 2023, Shannon earned her doctorate in Occupational Therapy. Since graduating, she’s been busy balancing two jobs—one at a hospital and another with a rehab client. Despite her hectic schedule, she’s making the most of post-grad life by attending football games, concerts, and traveling to visit friends. Shelby and Rachel met back in 2014 science class. Throughout high school, Shelby and Rachel continued to share classes and workplaces. Shelby helped Rachel get a job at a nursing home which quickly uncovered her passion for seniors and caregiving. Throughout the years, Shelby has been Rachel’s person and has seen her through many heartbreaks, happy moments, and hard days at work. Additionally, Shelby and Rachel have the special honor of being brides together! She is currently enjoying her home in Joliet, IL with her fiancé, Ryan and their two kitties! For about 6 years, Shelby has worked as a field hospice CNA preceptor. Throughout the years, Kenz has brought many incredible friends into Rachel’s and Alex’s lives. Additionally, Kenz was one of the special people who made the proposal possible. Currently, she is enjoying life in Kalamazoo with her roommate Kenzie and her two furry babies. She also is the fashion expert of the friend ground due to her position as Plato’s Closest assistant manager. Kenzie and Rachel met back in 2022 during a friends game night. Kenz and Rachel quickly bonded over their shared love of books and good music. Over the years the bond has grown deeper and stronger. Kenz and Rachel have enjoyed many nights on the couch yapping about everything under the sun. Additionally, Kenzie was one of the special people that made the proposal possible. Currently, Kenzie is enjoying life in Kalamazoo with her roommate Kenz and her two adopted furry babies. Kenzie recently graduated from Western Michigan with her bachelor in communication and is currently working in data and order entry for an apparel printing company. Lindsey and Rachel met back in 2021 through Kenz who she worked with at Plato’s Closet. Lindsey is the photographer of the friend group and the person who took our beautiful proposal pictures! Along with photography, Lindsey traveled around the country with AmeriCorp. From building homes to cleaning condemned buildings, she can do it all. Currently, she is enjoying living in Kalamazoo and working as a surgical and hospital technician at Bronson.
