That's a great question. Something we've loved doing since we first started dating was creating our own traditions. We are continuing this theme at our wedding, so you can expect the event to be fairly eclectic and laid back with a lot of organized games. The ceremony and reception will be at the same location. The event will start with cocktails and time to mingle with both the bride and groom, followed by a ceremony, dinner and lots of time for dancing.
There are several lots close to the venue, and one at the venue itself. The venue lot will hold about 20 cars, there’s a lot across the street on Walker that holds another 20, and an empty lot just right next to the venue that holds 70. There is plenty of street parking down by this particular venue as well! We encourage rideshares, or carpools with designated drivers in order to avoid awkward legal tensions and moral conflicts at the end of the night.
We love kiddos! However, we also want all the guests (especially if you're a parent) to be able to let loose, and (let's be real) children aren't always conducive to that. Thus, we would encourage you to attend sans the little ones. If this would mean you're unable to attend the event, we would be more than happy to have them join, as well. Keep in mind that the venue is a little bit more intimate, and the event will likely go later into the evening. We encourage you to plan accordingly so the kiddos aren't struggling hard during the party. Please let us know through the RSVP or contact us separately to let us know how we can best accommodate your needs!
For cocktail attire, little black dresses, suits, dark jeans, nice rompers, etc are all acceptable. Also bring comfortable shoes for dancing. Please refrain from whites (or "light nudes") and bright red attire even though they are trending right now. Red and white shoes are fine.... Fedoras are permissible but you will be mocked.
We plan to serve food throughout the ceremony and reception so (hopefully) no waiting will be involved. Food will be catered from one of the couple's favorite restaurants in the city (Szechaun Bistro), and will feature a fairly extensive menu with vegetarian options.
The venue itself is non-smoking. You are, however, allowed to utilize your smoking utensils outdoors in Oklahoma *so long as it's not accompanied by an open container of alcohol or any other non-nicotine substance.
Yes, do not worry, there will be an open bar to accompany the dancing. Please drink responsibly and plan accordingly with a designated driver or rideshare plans!
