Things To Do

We've included our list of our favorite places in Ann Arbor, sorted by recommender (very important).

Nichols Arboretum

Ann Arbor, MI 48104

(Recommended by Iris) My favorite place for a morning jog, sunny picnic with friends, or a solo reading date. If you are lucky, you may be able to catch the gorgeous peony blooms in the main garden. Fun fact -- Steve proposed at the Arb!

Afternoon Delight

Afternoon Delight

251 E Liberty Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104
, (734) 665-7513

(Recommended by Iris AND Steve!) One of the only places we can both agree on, Afternoon Delight has a vast and varied brunch menu sure to please the pickiest of eaters. Steve recommends the Meat Boule.

Kerrytown / Farmers' Market

Kerrytown / Farmers' Market

Ann Arbor, MI 48104

(Recommended by Iris) Kerrytown has many places to eat, sip coffee, and shop (Hollander's always has the most amazing cards and stationary). They also have a wonderful farmer's market on weekend mornings!

Kayak the Huron River

Kayak the Huron River

Ann Arbor, MI 48103

(Recommended by Iris) If you are feeling adventurous, take a kayak out on the Huron River! If you have never been kayaking, this is a good soft introduction via the gentle waters of Ann Arbor. Kayaking is a great way to see all of the wonderful nature Ann Arbor has to offer.

Dominick's

Dominick's

812 Monroe Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104
, (734) 662-5414

(Recommended by Iris) A business school staple. With seldom sunny days in Ann Arbor, I visited as frequently as possible for a glass of sangria to soak in some sun. Make sure you sit on the back patio for full effect.

University of Michigan Golf Course

University of Michigan Golf Course

500 East Stadium Boulevard, Ann Arbor, MI 48104
, (734) 615-4653

(Recommended by Steve) Hopefully we will get some decent weather and although I don't know any better, people who golf say this is actually a pretty nice course if you want to rent some clubs and squeeze a round in on Saturday morning.

Maize and Blue Deli

Maize and Blue Deli

1329 S University Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48104

(Recommended by Steve) Setting of some recorded Jim Harbaugh sightings, Maize and Blue is every bit as good as Ann Arbor's famous Zingerman's Deli, but half the price and without the hour plus wait for your sandwich.

MGM Grand Detroit

MGM Grand Detroit

1777 3rd Avenue, Detroit, MI 48226
, (877) 888-2121

(Recommended by Steve) We know traveling to Michigan for a wedding weekend isn't cheap, but this is a great place to win back some of your travel and hotel costs.

Pinball Pete's

Pinball Pete's

1214 South University Avenue, Ann Arbor, MI 48104
, (734) 213-2502

(Recommended by Steve) If you are bringing young kids, or if you are a 30 year old graduate student, Pete's not only has a great selection of pinball machines but also a wide variety of other arcade games.

Tios Mexican Cafe and Tequila Bar

Tios Mexican Cafe and Tequila Bar

401 East Liberty Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104
, (734) 761-6650

(Recommended by Steve) We can't really speak to their normal food, but Tios is the home to "Mount Nacheesmo", a 5 lb nacho platter featured on Man vs Food and the only food challenge Steve has ever attempted and failed to complete.

For all the days along the way
