Steve and Debbie were briefly introduced at church in November of last year. After exchanging a few back and forth pleasanties via text message in June of this year, something clicked and after church one day a brief question turned into a two+ hour conversation. Steve and Debbie went on their first "formal" date on July 17th, when Steve asked Debbie to be his girlfriend. Their open and honest conversations have allowed them to learn much about one another and how comfortable they feel together. Most importantly, they know that no matter what happens, their foundation is in Jesus Christ and they are ecstatic to find someone else who shares that passion.
After spending the day together at church, out to lunch, and walking local trails, Steve took Debbie to Mills Mansion in Staatsburg, NY. Steve brought her to a table down by the lake and gave her a custom present he had designed. Debbie loves puzzles, so Steve collected about 20 different pictures of Debbie over the years with friends and family and made a custom jigsaw puzzle. As she began to put it together she noticed there were a couple pieces missing. (She's very clever!) Finally when there were only two missing pieces left, Steve asked Debbie to stand up and said he had found them. The pieces read: "Deborah Lynn Sheehy. I Love You. Will You Marry Me?" Steve then got down on one knee, opened the ring box, and proposed.
