Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes. Otherwise, please restrict the attendees in your party to those listed on your invitation. We wish we could accommodate all our friends and family, but resources restrict this. We hope that we are able to celebrate with others at a later date!

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire, please. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses/jumpsuits/pant suits, and gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat. No jeans, please.

Question

What's the weather going to be like?

Answer

Average December temperatures in Charleston are around low to mid 60s (roughly 18-18.3 degrees Celsius). But as Stephen says, "you can't predict the weather.."

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We strongly recommend staying on or around the Charleston Peninsula. Please see the "Travel" tab for more specific recommendations.

Question

Do I need a rental car?

Answer

We don't think it is necessary to rent a car for the duration of your stay. With the airport 20 minutes from downtown, Uber will be both the most convenient and cost effective option for transportation to and from your accommodation. Further, since Charleston proper is roughly 3 miles wide, it is very easy to access the wedding venue on foot/by Uber. Rental cars may be worthwhile if you plan on staying in Charleston longer and want to explore the area.

Question

How do I get from the ceremony to the reception?

Answer

Your feet! The church is roughly 500 feet from the reception site. Please let us know if there are any accessibility issues.

Question

What are we having to eat?

Answer

We have developed a diverse menu to meet the needs and tastes of all of our family and friends. Please refer to the meal selections included in your invitation.

Question

Where can we keep the party going?

Answer

King Street! Lots of bars with great music and fun atmosphere. To relive your college days, we recommend Uptown Social. To end the evening in style, we recommend Prohibition or Stars. For a calmer end to your evening overlooking the river, the Rooftop at Vendue is a great choice.
