In August of 2014, both Stephanie and Luis just so happened to swipe right. For Stephanie, it was his beard and the way he made her laugh. For Luis, it was her smile and the way that their conversations always flowed. They shared their first date at The Flying Saucer over a few drinks, lots of laughs, and a game of darts won by Luis (to this day Stephanie still cannot seem to win). A few weeks later on September 13th, in some bar on Sixth Street in Austin, they decided to make it official.

Six years later, Stephanie and Luis packed up their Subaru and hit the road for California with August, their Miniature Australian Shepherd, and a trunk load of camping supplies. On October 9th, 2020, in a quiet grove of Redwood trees in the Avenue of the Giants in Northern California, Luis asked Stephanie to be his wife. They wouldn’t have it any other way.
