We met and quickly fell in love in beautiful Denver, Colorado. That initial spark was fueled by a mutual love of running, hiking and brewery-hopping. Our second date was going to pick up our race packets for the Colfax Marathon (for Dom) and the Half Marathon (for Steph), and the rest was history. From exploring Rocky Mountain National Park and summiting 14ers to moving into our first home together and adding a sweet pup to our family, Colorado will always hold a special place in our hearts as the place that brought us together.
After being together for a little over two years, and just five months into the COVID-19 pandemic, Domenic proposed to Stephanie along the coast of Rialto Beach at Olympic National Park in Washington. We were toward the end of a 2.5-week roadtrip across Washington, and had been camping for about 9 days straight when we decided to spend forever together as the sun set over the Pacific.
ICYMI: We moved! Our engagement trip throughout the Pacific Northwest helped us realize that we were ready for a change of scenery. In October, Domenic started a new job with the City of Vancouver (just north of Portland, Oregon), and we're thrilled to have a new home base in Washington. Come visit us!
When we started telling our friends and family that we wanted to get married in New Mexico, some — understandably — asked, "why?" To us, New Mexico feels like the perfect middle ground between Stephanie's roots in Arizona and Domenic's roots in Colorado. Plus, we truly love Taos (just 4.5 hours south of Denver) after spending quite a bit of time there over the last few years, and we think you'll love it just as much as we do.
