Bridesmaid
Kathryn and Stephanie met at Lakeview Elementary where they taught 5th grade together for many years. Aside from the teaching part, Kathryn and Stephanie shared afterschool clubs, Cincos takeout on the porch, National Anthem performances, a New Years' resolution to eat more ice cream, road trips to and from camp in VA, and a woefully underused karaoke machine. Kathryn also went the extra mile in providing the flower girl and ring bearer!
Bridesmaid
Brittany and Stephanie also met at Lakeview. Even though they were at opposite ends of the building, their love of tacos, movies, and freestyle rap drew them together. Hanging with the pups on the porch became a regular Sunday tradition…and Wednesday….and Tuesday. Stephanie is endlessly grateful for Brittany’s support, whether it's co-leading small group, teaching second graders, or cooking HelloFresh.
Bridesmaid
Naomi and Stephanie met in VA where they lived on the same street, went to the same high school, and shared the same brain. Some memorable moments: recreating the movie Stand By Me with neighborhood actors, skipping prom parties to watch Young Frankenstein and eat pizza rolls, visiting Astoria and Cannon Beach for The Goonies' 30th anniversary, and traveling back to VA for our 30th high school reunion.
Best Man
Joel's friendship has been such an important part of Dave's life. They've improvised together, lost money to each other in poker, gone on long walks in near darkness and had long talks about life and relationships.
Groomswoman
Aside from being one of the most talented improvisers in the world, Lisa Rowland has been Dave's Improv collaborator and friend for over ten years.
Groomsman
Chris is an amazing improviser, coach, corporate trainer, comedic mind, gameshow host and friend. He's the master of stream-of-consciousness word association dry delivery.
Flower Girl
Tesla and Stephanie have shared lots of chips at Cinco, stories and movies on road trips, peanut butter crackers at protests and splash pads, and a love of Alice in Wonderland. Tesla may not smile in her role as flower girl (as is her right), but she will have us smiling as she walks down the aisle.
Ring Bearer
Miriam HAD to be the ring bearer because she helped Dave get Stephanie's ring size before his proposal. Then four-year-old Miriam pretended she was doing an assignment for school and interviewed Stephanie with questions like "What's your shoe size?", "How tall are you?", and "What's your ring size?" She also improvised follow-ups to Stephanie's answers. We've got to get her enrolled at BATS!
