FAQs

If you have any other questions besides what is listed here please reach out to us!
Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Of course we love all your little ones, but we kindly ask that you leave them behind. If you are not able to accommodate, please contact us and we will see what we can do.

Question

When should I book my hotel?

Answer

ASAP! Mammoth Lakes is a very popular destination and this time of year is both wedding and graduation season, so you'll want to book as soon as possible. Especially if you want to stay at The Village Lodge or Mammoth Mountain Inn where we have a discount code, you'll want to book that very soon.

Question

Can I visit Yosemite National Park?

Answer

At this moment Tioga Pass is open, so yes you can visit Tuolumne Meadows and Yosemite Valley! It is a slow road to get all the way to the valley so take your time and enjoy the views and plan on going getting a pizza at The Deck in Curry Village for lunch.

Question

Is there Uber/Lyft in Mammoth?

Answer

Nope! That's why we encourage you to stay at one of the two main hotels on our website. Note we recently heard there may be 1 Uber driver in town but have not confirmed yet. There are a few local taxis you can call. We will have a shuttle service picking up at Mammoth Mountain Inn and the Mammoth Village and dropping off at those locations after the reception. Parking at the ceremony site is very limited so please plan on using the shuttles if possible.

Question

What is the best airport to fly into?

Answer

The closest major airport is Reno International Airport (RNO). Feel free to stop in Tahoe on your way down to Mammoth! There are smaller airports in Mammoth Lakes and Bishop that have some seasonal travel options as well. Other options if you want to do some additional travel would be anything in the Bay Area or Southern California, these both have some public transportation options to get to Mammoth but require transfers and are a bit more complicated. Fresno airport and driving through Yosemite is a little risky as there is a possibility that some mountain passes may not be opened yet.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

Eastern Sierra Transit Authority offers a route from Reno International Airport to Mammoth Lakes (see our travel page), but it only operates that route once a day, so you need to plan ahead and make sure your flights align with the schedule. For getting around Mammoth, Mammoth has a great transit system that will even take you up to the beautiful alpine lakes in the area! If you don't want to get out, you can use it just as a sight seeing tour. Renting a car will give you the most flexibility, but we understand it's an added cost.
