Travel Note
Rental House Tips
There are plenty of rental houses and condos available throughout Downtown Charleston. Some recommended neighborhoods are Cannonborough Elliotborough, Radcliffeborough, French Quarter, and South of Broad. Generally speaking, most restaurants and shops are located either on or right off of King Street or Meeting Street. It is very easy to secure an Uber downtown. If you want to stay closer to the beaches, we recommend Isle of Palms, also known as IOP. There are many rental house options on the island, which can be secured through Airbnb or Vrbo. Restaurant recommendations on IOP can be found on the Things to Do tab. Please note that IOP is a 25 to 30 minute drive from Downtown Charleston. Additionally, Ubers are extremely difficult to call on Isle of Palms. If staying on IOP, we highly recommend scheduling a cab to take you into Downtown. Cab company recommendations can be found on the Cab Information Note at the bottom of this page.
