Meeting our future spouse on an app was not originally in the cards for either one of us. We're happy to say that we are one of Hinge's success stories! We matched on January 1st, 2022 and have spoken to each other every day since. On January 9th, we went on our first date at Draught 55 (Melissa was extremely hungover and missing the end of a really good Steeler's game for what turned out to be a worthwhile first date). Paul likes to move quickly and by January 23rd he made it official. We have been told many times that we always seem to be doing so much together... and that is true. We've been best friends from the very beginning. While we both came from different worlds and have led very different lives, we have bonded over our love of movies, broadway, and baseball. Our relationship has faced many challenges that we needed to overcome, such as Juan Soto signing with the Mets (not a good day for Paul). On Saturday, May 11th, 2024, after beating a co-op video game (highly recommend: It Takes Two!) Paul took Melissa out on a date. Strolling through Cold Spring Harbor with Sweetie Pies coffee in hand, Paul took Melissa to a bench overlooking the water. Paul then got down on one knee and asked Melissa to marry him! What did she respond? "I don't know how to be a fiancé." We truly cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together. Please join us in celebrating this next chapter!
