A quaint mountain town, Lyons is ~30 minutes north of Boulder. Nestled into the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, it sits at the base of the canyon that leads to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park at the confluence of North St. Vrain Creek and South St. Vrain Creek (20 miles east of Rocky Mountain National Park).
Situated along the banks of the North St. Vrain River with a backdrop of stunning red sandstone cliffs, we knew that River Bend was perfect the minute we set foot on the grounds. Surrounded by outdoor beauty—including a spacious lawn, towering shade trees, a riverside patio, and the peaceful flow of the river—River Bend views are stunning.
In the CO foothills in early October, typically the daily high will peak ~70 in the afternoon then drop to the low 30s overnight. Prepare to add layers after dark—the thin mountain air can feel chilly. On the flipside, temps can climb as high as 80 on a sunny day. The altitude is 5,341′, so don't be surprised if you feel breathless coming from sea level.
Inspired by the mountain bohemian vibe (MoHo) in Lyons, we invite you to take a dressy chic approach. Feel free to be eclectic and comfortable. Think rugged footwear with a fancy dress! Rocky Mountain flare optional.
Layers are key to accommodating the wide temperature swings in CO’s fall climate. Think comfort, warmth, and flexibility. You will see a range of ways that locals mix practical with trendy. If you want to enjoy the many walking and hiking trails, a pair of light-weight hiking shoes/boots are recommended.
The reception, dance, and after party will be indoors, inside the on-site barn. But guests can flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy this majestic setting. There will be heaters on the patio and fire pits on the lawn to warm the outdoors. You will not have to brave the elements! But bring a coat to wander among the string-lit trees and gaze at the stars.
River Bend offers ample complimentary on-site parking.
