Tour to Guatapé
A day trip to the beautiful nearby town of Guatape - climb the famous El Peñol rock, wander around the colorful town, take lots of pictures, and eat Colombian food. It's a LONG day, so bring headphones, water, and comfortable shoes - and wear sunscreen!
Free Walking Tour Medellin - Real City Tours
This tour is the perfect way to get to know Medellin's history - the good, the bad, and the truly fascinating. There's a suggested tip of $10 per person at the end (which is strongly recommended), but it's otherwise free! There's a fair amount of walking involved, though there are lots of stops to sit and rest. Wear sunscreen or a hat or you'll definitely burn!
Fruit Tasting and Cocktail Making Class
A fun, short class at a rooftop bar where you'll get to try a few Colombian fruits and learn how to use them in cocktails!
Museum of Modern Art Medellin
One of Sophia's favorite visits in Medellin! They have rotating exhibits, so there's always something new and cool to see. Bring a jacket or sweater - it's always inexplicably freezing inside.
Coffee Plantation Tour
Experience the whole growing process from start to finish - planting, growing, harvesting, roasting, and brewing - and try some freshly made local coffee. Learn about different techniques and flavor profiles too!
Botanical Gardens
More focused on plants and trees than flowers, the botanical garden in Medellin is one of the only free, open, green spaces in the city. People come here all the time just to picnic or play, like a park! We definitely recommend it for a relaxed afternoon - and be sure to get pictures of the iguanas and turtles who freely roam the gardens (Em's favorite part)!
Tour of Communa 13
Visit what was once the most dangerous neighborhood in Medellin, now covered in beautiful works of street art, and learn about its history and culture.
Zipline Hike
For the truly adventurous folks, this full-day excursion takes you down the highest zipline in all of Colombia, as well as a hike up to some incredible waterfalls. We haven't done this one (we're indoor cats at heart), but it has great ratings and looks like an unforgettable experience!
Museum of Antioquia
A beautiful museum showcasing art by some of Colombia's most prolific artists. Perfect for a relaxing couple of hours spent out of the sun!
