We're getting married!! We can't wait to celebrate with you!

On a starry December night in Denver, Colorado in 2016, one of Meghan’s University of Denver (DU) grad school friends, Amanda, was hosting her annual backyard, yet formal, Christmas Party. This same friend happened to invite Tamara, a good friend of Nick’s who invited him along knowing he too attended DU. Into the evening, Nick was introduced to Meghan by Amanda, and he fell in love at first sight, witnessing the most beautiful woman in a red dress. They found themselves quickly hitting it off and continued to get to know each other throughout the evening. Soon after, Nick convinced Meghan to go on their first date to the Botanical Gardens' holiday "Blossoms of Light" in Denver. As they walked along the path of lights, Nick told Meghan a story of dinosaurs that once roamed the land there, unknowing of Meghan's infatuation of them... and the rest is history. ...Coincidentally, two years earlier, having both attended the University of Denver for their master's degrees, they graduated on the same day, in the same room (along with a thousand other students), and probably just sitting a few rows away from one another since they were seated alphabetically…

During the summer of 2022 while backpacking throughout Eastern Europe, hiking was a priority for Nick and Meghan. Nick carefully carried the ring he designed ahead of the trip and knew the time would be right for a proposal as Meghan loves hiking in the mountains and feels closest to God while in the outdoors. Researching the highest peak in each country, Romania’s Mt. Moldoveanu Peak stood out with optimal weather and huts housing hikers on their trek to the summit. Nick got to work planning the trip immediately! A few weeks later they were on their way and after a strenuous multi-day hike up, they stayed at a hut and headed for the summit first thing the next morning. As they went up they had perfect weather, there were many flowers blooming, and the sound of sheep echoed in the distance. Reaching the summit no other hikers were in sight and majestic clouds began to surround the peak. After a few moments of excitement and celebrating their success, Nick suggested they take a photo and began setting up the camera. "Move a bit left" he said, then "10...9..." he announced as he walked toward Meghan with his eyes tearing up. After a few steps, down on one knee he went, opening up the ring case saying to her “I love you Meghan Prentiss and want to spend my life with you, will you marry me?" A quiet “snap” went the camera. Her hands covered her face and she said emotionally "oh Nick" as she came in close, throwing her arms around him. After a brief embrace, she looked at him and he asked "so yes”? “Of course!” she exclaimed back. Hiking down that afternoon, they passed a flock of sheep a few minutes before sighting their hut for the night. Checking in with the innkeeper, they learned that the other guests that night were in fact the shepherds for the flock. Later on, Meghan and Nick shared a simple dinner on the deck, then went to bed while surrounded by a flock of 400 sheep. A proposal in the heavens, then surrounded by shepherds and their flock was a perfect ending to a special day.

Together, we've travelled the world - living and working on all seven continents and we can say without a doubt that there is no one on this planet we'd rather be saying "I Do" to... Most of all, we are excited to be home, in nature and surrounded by friends and family on the most special day of our lives!
