FAQs

Question

When should I fly in/out?

Answer

Depends on how much time you’d like to spend in the area! We know many of you are traveling across states or even countries to be there for us, and that you might want to make this a longer trip. If you have specific travel questions you want a local’s thoughts on, you can always reach out to us.

Question

(Siri,) What's the weather like?

Answer

July weather near Mountain View (South Bay) is generally 25C/15C - that's 77F/59F.. However, if you plan on exploring or staying in San Francisco, prepare to bring layers because it can get chilly - 19C/12C or 67F/54F. Too many times we've seen tourists shivering on the streets and buying SF branded hoodies.

Question

When should I get to the venue by?

Answer

We intend to start the ceremony around 5pm, so please try to be at the venue a little before then. Try to account for parking!

Question

What is the parking situation at the venue?

Answer

There will be limited parking, as it is in a public park. Plan to arrive early if you're driving, and maybe share a ride with other guests! Also, you always have Lyft or Uber.

Question

What's there to do around Mountain View?

Answer

Mountain View is about 40 minute drive South of San Francisco. That means it's close to the famed other school in the Bay (ahem, Stanford) and lots of tech campuses (Google, Apple Visitor Center, etc.) to explore. Lots of good Asian food too!

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

It really depends: where do you intend to stay, where are you going to explore, and how many things you want to pack in your day? For instance, if you book a hotel in San Jose and want to explore all the tourist spots in SF in 2 days, it might be cheaper and faster to rent a car. If you don't want to rent a car but want to explore San Francisco while staying near Mountain View, you can catch a northbound Caltrain at the Mountain View station.

Question

Tips on exploring San Francisco?

Answer

Plan your itinerary ahead! The city can feel really big or small depending on the collection of places you intend to visit. A practical tip: if you're driving, do not leave anything visible in the car when you park. Even a blanket. It's safer to do that so no one tries to break into your car to search it for anything worth selling. If you get stressed about parking, consider Lyft/Ubering everywhere. Public transportation is not bad either, if you intend to stay in the city.

Question

Can I bring a date (+1)?

Answer

Definitely! Just make sure to let us know when you RSVP.
