Please RSVP as soon as you know whether you will be able to attend - the sooner, the better. The absolute deadline to RSVP is May 20, 2026. Please be advised that if you do not RSVP, you will not be accounted for. The Resort has made it clear that there shall be no "surprise guests;" if your name is not found on the list once you arrive to the resort entrance gate, there will be no passage. Of course, if you book your room at the resort, then your name will certainly show up. PLEASE NOTE: room availability at the resort may be limited as the date gets closer, so we recommend that you book your room as soon as you can.
You can arrive whenever you would like - we'd love it if you make a vacation out of it but we would really love it if you partoke in the pre-wedding festivities leading up to our wedding day which includes a welcome activity on Thursday and Wedding Eve Festivity on Friday - more details to come on those. If you are able to only make it to our wedding day on Saturday - love it - please just take note of the schedule so you know when things will start the day of the wedding. We do suggest however, flying in and arriving to the resort at least the night before the wedding.
Dreams Bahia Mita Surf & Spa Resort is a family-friendly resort, and while children are welcome, we kindly ask that you consider making alternative arrangements if possible. Our wedding is designed to be an intimate and enjoyable experience for all guests, and we want to ensure a comfortable atmosphere for everyone. If you do bring your little ones, we kindly ask that they remain supervised at all times. To maintain the flow of the ceremony and reception, we request that any restless or noisy children be temporarily taken to a quieter space. Additionally, for safety reasons, children should remain off the ceremony and performance areas. Our event staff will be available to assist if you need to be guided to a quieter space, and to help ensure both you and your child can enjoy the celebration smoothly. We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation in making this a special experience for all!
It's actually two hotels combined in one resort - DREAMS Bahia Mita Surf & Spa on the right side and SECRETS Bahia Mita Surf and Spa in the left side. The DREAMS side is family-friendly and that is the side we will be staying at and the side the wedding will take place since there will be children allowed at our wedding. The SECRETS side is ADULTS ONLY, and children are not allowed on that side, of course. A guest staying on the SECRETS side, if anyone chooses to, has access to the entire Dreams & Secrets side. There are 12 total restaurants; DREAMS guests have access to 8 out of the 12 and SECRETS guests can access all 12. You just show up at the restaurant you choose and it's first come first serve for a la carte restaurants and of course the main buffett always has space. HOWEVER, there are areas for PREFFERED guests only (certain pools and bars) and no one can access those unless you book a "preferred" room. Please note that this is a resort that you must not only provide identification when you check in but you must also CHECK OUT at the front desk at the end of your stay and be given a gate pass to be able to exit the resort.
We kindly ask that guests wear formal attire for the wedding day and avoid white, ivory, or cream tones. Also, don’t forget to pack your swimsuit as there will surely be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water and sunshine. Keep in mind that it's hot and humid in this area so pack your light, breathable clothing too.
The weather in this area is generally hot and humid year-round, so expect to be a bit toasty no matter the season and you will get sweaty (bring your portable hand-held fans). Since our wedding falls in August, it also coincides with the region’s rainy season. That said, rainfall is usually light and brief - often just a quick sprinkle or passing shower, typically in the late afternoon or evening. While we can’t predict the weather exactly, we don’t anticipate any rain interfering with the wedding day itself, especially since the ceremony and cocktail hour, which will take place outdoors, are both short events. Just something to keep in mind when planning what to wear and pack.
If you do not speak Spanish, please note that at the airport and at the Resort, most every employee speaks English. However, keep Google translate handy in the slight chance you need to translate anything to perhaps your Uber driver or any other local you may encounter.
As we are sure everyone knows, you need a passport to travel internationally via an airport; we recommend that you make sure that your passport will not expire within 6 months of this trip. However, please check Mexico's "Visas" page to find out whether you will need to apply for a visa to enter. As of right now, United States citizens are not required a visa but please check the following website to see if the country you are a citizen of is in the list for needing a visa to enter Mexico. https://embamex.sre.gob.mx/finlandia/index.php/traveling/visas
