We're getting married!

It all started in 2013 when Ricardo and Sonia crossed paths at the University of Washington Tacoma. Both were juggling classes, homework, and the dream of earning their bachelor’s degrees - so naturally, they thought, Why not add a campus job into the mix? As fate would have it, they both applied for the same student job with the Events & Services team. They were interviewed and hired just days apart, unknowingly setting the stage for something far bigger than just earning some extra cash. They only worked one shift together before Sonia headed to Seattle campus for summer quarter, but when she returned in the fall, their shifts began to overlap more often. Slowly but surely, the chemistry kicked in, and what they initially thought was just a "college fling" started feeling like something much more. Both graduated in the summer of 2014 and to celebrate graduation, Sonia decided to take a trip to New York - her dream city, a place she had always romanticized thanks to countless movie scenes of love, adventure, and magic. Naturally, Ricardo came along, and at some point, as they wandered hand in hand through a quiet park, he looked at her and softly said those three little words: "I love you." Of course, Sonia said it back - and in the moment with the city, the twinkling lights, the magic of New York - it all came together like a scene straight out of the movies. Without a doubt, one of the most unforgettable moments of their love story. When it was time to begin life after graduation, Sonia and Ricardo were defying the odds - navigating long-distance love, supporting each other through new jobs and life changes, and proving that timing is overrated when you’re building something that lasts. Fast forward 12+ years, countless adventures, career moves, and memories later… and here they are, ready to take the next big step. Together, they’ve navigated the highs and lows of adulthood - celebrating each other’s successes, weathering challenges hand in hand, and proving time and time again that love isn’t just about grand gestures but about the everyday moments that build a life together. From traveling the world together and trying (and sometimes failing at) new hobbies, to cheering each other on through law school/MBA school and career changes, they’ve created a bond that is equal parts laughter, resilience, and unwavering partnership. They’ve been each other’s biggest fans, best adventure buddies, and safe space through every twist and turn. They’ve done things their own way, on their own timeline, and wouldn’t have it any other way. Now, after more than a decade of writing their love story, they’re beyond excited to step into this next chapter as husband and wife - surrounded by the people who have supported and loved them along the way.
