An adorable little hill country town by the Blanco River. This is the town closest to the venue. Has cute shopping, tasty food and a river walk. Make sure to admire the adorable painted cowboy boots that are scattered throughout the town and you can understand where the inspo came from for the boot on the invitation!
A Texas Hill Country Staple that is super cute. Known for it's history and architecture. "From tacos to onion rings, antiques to cowboy hats, and Americana music to blues, every doorway leads you to something unforgettable." It has the oldest dance hall in Texas built in 1878. Great place to walk around. For food we recommend the Gristmill River Restaurant - it is an old 1878 cotton gin mill and has great food!
This is the little town Sonia and Nicole celebrated their engagement in! Nicole secretly rented a house for Sonia and her family here along the Blanco River and tricked Sonia into thinking Barbara rented it. In the morning on 12/21/24 Sonia and Nicole went for a hike where she proposed at the nearby Pedernales Falls State Park, and then came back to the house in Blanco where Sonia's family had set up decorations and letters from her friends and family to celebrate! That evening we had an epic night old in Blanco filled with Karaoke and wrestling by the fire lol. It is very small town, but so charming! There's a great BBQ restaurant, Metal art shop, and coffee shop.
Nicole proposed to Sonia at this State Park! In a private cave she found while they were hiking. 💍 It's Sonia and Nicole's favorite State Park in the area. Worth the 6$ per person entrance fee. Follow the signs down to Pedernales Falls and walk around the rocks to admire the beautiful pools and rock formations carved out by the water. If you want to try and find the proposal cave walk up river and go to the right.
While You’re in Austin Don’t miss the River Arts District, a lively spot filled with galleries, local shops, and live music. Our favorite bar in this area is the Flamingo Cantina a funky place that hosts reggae & latin music bands. After 5 different catering tastings in June 2025 we had a fun night out here and saw one of our favorite live music performances we've ever seen together this amazing Reggae band called The Meditations. For a refreshing break, and to take in some natural beauty of Austin take a dip in Barton Springs Pool, a natural spring that stays a cool 68°F year-round. For restaurants with great food and good vibes we recommend checking out Lin Asian Bar + Dim Sum the soup dumplings are fire and this is where Sonia and Nicole had one of their first dinner dates!
