You take your kid(s) here and they'll think your the best parent on the planet. Heck, we'll think you're the best parent on the planet. Babysitter not included.
This outdoor market put on by Portland locals does a good job of satisfying all of your senses. Rain or shine, it never disappoints.
If you like to read or you just like to get lost, this is the place to go. And if you wind up checking it out, make your way to the Purple Room. Hands down everyone's favorite spot in the store.
A cool way to view the city and kill some time (not for those with acrophobia). Also, there are food trucks conveniently located near the loading deck. Something you might enjoy AFTER the tram ride.
Do yourself a favor and go to as many as you can. And yes, the wait is always worth it. TIP: Get the "Cart Compass PDX - Food Carts in Portland" app to help you eat your way through food truck heaven.
We bring all of our out-of-town visitors to brunch here and we're still not tired of it. Order anything and everything. You can thank us later.
The healthiest from the food suggestions list for those that are vegan or just wanting to feel Portland hippie for the afternoon.
Our favorite dinner spot yet. WARNING: Make sure you have a reservation.
A natural gem that we have regrettably not had time for but with all of the positive reviews stirring around, we're hoping that changes soon. With taking 1 hour 45 minute just to get there, it's safe to say that this is at least a half day's worth of activity.
This is a pretty sweet way to get around if you ask Alex or any Portlandian (I'm not a huge bike fan). But nonetheless, it's a really cool concept and way to explore if you've got the time. First, you don't need to be tech savvy but you do need to be able to get the Biketown app. It locates all of the bike pods for you and lets you know availability. Renting prices go for $2.50/single ride or $12/day.
IF you've got the time (that's a huge if), we totally recommend you take at least half a day to make it out to Hood River (it's a solid hour drive from Portland). It's such a cute town with an overly cool Oregonian vibe. The locals are super chill and there's so much to do: play in the river, breweries, shopping, and wineries. Trust us, the drive is worth it. The drive is actually part of why we like going to Hood River. You'll see.
This park is absolutely gorgeous and if you're a runner (walking will get you there just as fine) the view at the top doesn't disappoint.
If we can be completely honest, this is another thing we still haven't made it out to but it is high on our list of things to do. It's been highly recommended by many locals so we thought to pass it on!
