Formal attire. The ceremony will take place in a church, so we ask that women please wear attire that covers their shoulders (dress with sleeves or a shawl) for this portion of the evening. It also may become cooler late at night, so we recommend bringing a shawl or sweater to the vineyard just in case. If you have any specific questions, feel free to reach out to us! The ceremony will take place indoors. The cocktail hour and reception will take place both inside and outside. Jerez is usually very dry and warm in June (almost like Southern California), so please dress accordingly.
The recommended hotels and welcome drinks are all in the city center of Jerez, so you will not need a car to navigate there. However, if you're planning on driving to other nearby cities like Cadiz, Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba, Ronda or Malaga, we'd recommend renting a car or taking the RENFE train. Our wedding venue is about a 25 minute drive from the city center, and we will be providing transportation for our guests. However, if you would prefer to drive yourself and rent a car, that is perfectly fine! Taxis will also be able to reach our venue which has ample parking.
The wedding venue is about a 25-minute drive from the city center, and transportation will be provided. Please stay tuned for transportation details regarding getting from the ceremony to the reception. If preferred, Taxis are available in Jerez. We recommend downloading the "Tele Taxi Jerez" app (https://www.teletaxijerez.com/) so that you can order taxis from your phone. Uber is not currently available in Jerez.
We hope you will understand our decision to make the wedding adult-only.
The RSVP page on the website will become available closer to our date. If you already know you are unable to attend, please email us at thompsonsobelboda@gmail.com to let us know. You will be missed!
That's expected! Feel free to shoot us a note at thompsonsobelboda@gmail.com or text/call Nick or Sofia directly with any doubts, questions or concerns.
Outside of Madrid and Barcelona, it's rare to find fluent English speakers in Spain. Jerez is a large city, but we recommend learning some basic Spanish phrases on Duolingo or similar apps. In case of a medical emergency, the Spanish 911 equivalent is 112. We recommend downloading Google Translate as well. Your hotel will likely have somebody who speaks English working at the front desk.
