No. Sadly but respectfully, due to the ongoing COVID restrictions, we were forced to postpone our big celebration until a later date. UPDATE: Mini ceremony and reception - September 5, 2020 Large Reception w/everyone originally intended - date still to be decided in 2021, pending COVID getting under control.
It's mainly our parents, close family and a small handful of friends. Invitations have been mailed out.
As of now we're allowed to have up to 100 guests outdoors (social distancing, no mask required) for our ceremony. We can have up to 50 guests indoors (social distancing), and wearing masks when not eating and drinking, at our reception. We're all pretty used to toting around our masks and wearing them, so please bring one you're comfortable using.
We would like to keep it at the Oregon Garden, just like originally planned. We're still aiming for sometime in Summer 2021 if all works as we hope it can. If COVID doesn't get under control, keeping large groups from getting together, we might have to postpone until 2022!!! Weird...we know.
We think the chance for rain is a lot lower. Figure for a possible margin of 75-90 degrees Fahrenheit, with slight breeze. Layers are your friend at any time in Oregon.
Yes, there will be a bar open in our [Orchid] banquet room across from the ceremony garden. Currently we are planning to cover the costs of some beers and wine. Beverages with "spirits", including their signature drinks (yum) will not be covered by us. Unfortunately/fortunately this venue does not allow for shots to be sold or for any alcohol to be brought into the reception and gardens. We did find out that the lounge, due to COVID restrictions, is only open until 10pm now. No after party there!!
Yes, it's TAER. Please keep in mind they are only offering this discount for the night of the wedding. This will save you $20 off your reservation. UPDATE: this code is still the same for the 9/5/2020 date.
Yes, but we have personally found it's far easier to just call them to make your reservation. Trust me on this and save yourself a lot of time and possible frustration. Granted, we started trying to make instructions about this more than a year before the wedding date, which also made it more complicated.
For the 9/5/2020 event - No. We've had to limit the number of people so kids are not able to attend except for ours that are in the wedding party. For the 2021 event - yes! We know who has kids, have accounted for them and look forward to having them there with us if you want them there. If the kids can't make it, no worries. Please just let us know your RSVP numbers in the RSVP card or on this site's RSVP page (in 2021). Thank you!
Served cafeteria style will be: SALAD: Moonstone Garden Salad (Field greens tossed w/tomato, cucumber & carrots served with house ranch dressing). ENTREES: Marinated Beef Tri-Tip (w/house made BBQ sauce), Northwest Salmon (served w/choice of blackberry reduction or lemon butter), White Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese (with sun dried cranberries and pine nut crust). SIDES: Fresh green beans w/toasted almonds and loaded twice baked potatoes
Your dog is welcome in the Oregon Garden and in some of their pet friendly resort rooms. But please, no dogs at the ceremony and reception. Let's call it the "No Messy Bride and Groom plan". Thank you.
Yes. Since so much has changed, there's only about 10 of us attending this rehearsal dinner and it's going to be the week before the wedding. Those attending will be contacted directly with more details as we solidify them.
2020 event - we're still going for it, no matter what! 2021 event: The Grand Hall, where the reception is planned, is MASSIVE and covered. We're only doing a reception so this will not be an issue.
We can update this closer to the event but at the very least, Robin is planning to have Wed-Sunday off work to focus on nothing but the wedding.
We will work on this and we will post information closer to the event. For now we only know our social media hashtag is #snrwedding2020
Yes, even though there is no formal Maid of Honor or Bridesmaids, there are at least two bridal showers for Robin. Three friends have already volunteered to help put together a bridal shower with one in Albany, OR and the other in Happy Valley, OR. The Happy Valley party is postponed until a later date, after the 9/5/2020 ceremony. The Albany party invitations have been sent so keep an eye out! Please let Robin know if you'd like to help and/or attend so we can connect you.
We're going with lots of bold and fun colors, leaning a lot towards tangerine orange and cobalt blue. But you'll see red, orange, yellow, purple, green, blues and some white all throughout! Fun and happy!!!
There are Oregon Garden staff helping us coordinate catering and some things leading up to the event. For the day of wedding, we have hired a day of coordinator (Rachel) to help keep us on track and cover such a huge space.
Yes, you can get to the registry through the link at the top of the webpage. If you don't see that, the link is: www.zola.com/registry/snrwedding. You'll notice there are things you can buy direct from Zola, from Macy's and from Pampered Chef. Then there are other items that have links to all kinds of other random sites like Home Depot, Amazon, Container Store, etc. Some of those have been made as group gifts since they're such high price items.
With the new COVID-19 weirdness in the world, we might do a more simple trip to Vegas the week after the Sept 2020 wedding. We were starting to plan a super nice Hawaii vacation but we're hoping to do that instead in 2021.
Those are wildflower seeds. Stephany, Robin's Mom and plant growing expert, says to plant them after the last frost of the seaon. She's going to try and start hers in the greenhouse in April. We would love to see your flowers growing. Send photos!
Yes! We visited the Oregon Garden in July 2019 and snapped all these photos throughout the multiple different gardens. These only show you about 5% of their property so there's plenty to explore while you're there.
The garden is the main "theme" but you'll see some hints of wine and beer decor around the reception. You will notice hexagon shapes all throughout the event!
