I met Jasmine, along with Deranisha in 1995 as kids while attending church at House of Faith COGIC. I wanted to be friends with her because her mom use to give us peanut butter crackers during church... haha, we have been inseparable ever since. She’s my sister, I’ve known her my whole life and couldn’t imagine having anyone else by my side during this journey called life. I am honored to be chosen as a part of her Bridal Party.

Hey my name is Jimmy. I'm born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, went to Michigan (where I met Marcus) and now am moving from Los Angeles to New York during COVID! I met Marcus at orientation. After an ominous start to our relationship (aka Marcus severely judging me), we became close friends and have had every experience under the moon. Love you dude and thrilled you're marrying Jasmine.

Jasmine and I met during our freshman year at Claflin University. We became friends when Jasmine joined the Kleist Hall Step team (which I was the captain). We quickly bonded! In 2011, we pledged Delta Sigma Theta, and have been sisters ever since! I'm originally from Maryland but currently reside in South Florida. I work as an admission counselor and adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University. I cannot wait to continue our international travels, once the world permits!
Mark Leemon

Marcus and I met during welcome week at Michigan. We became quick friends and lived together our final years at school. How could we not? I suppose it was just too easy to introduce Marcus and Mark at parties! About me...I’m Marcus’s friend from Atlanta... the one that introduced him to metal music, convinced him to go to Canada in February, and took him on his first trip to Europe. I’m an avid traveler, scuba diver, and future donor (from politics to kids).

Best known as Deedy. I was born and raised in New Orleans. I love anything to do with social sciences and languages. Any downtime is spent reading or gaming. Jasmine and I met in church when we were 3 and 4 years old. She's been my sister ever since.

Given that 2020 feels like it was 10 years ago, the summer of 2007 might as well have been a lifetime ago — but that's where I met Marcus (and Jimmy) at U of M orientation. We've been friends ever since; Marcus went on to be the best man at my wedding a few years ago. Before he shipped up to Boston, we enjoyed a lot of good times around town in Chicago. Marcus even came up to Evanston a few times and met Cake, our cat (pictured).

During the summer of 2019, Jasmine and I shared an office at the Irving Harris Foundation. Quickly, we discovered our mutual love for tea, yarn crafts, abolition, and making strange noises while typing. We have shared countless adventures since working together — and the honor has been completely that of mine. I have numerous hobbies. I am very passionate about crocheting blankets, reinventing Taiwanese recipes from my childhood, taking naps with my pup and partner, and running through the Chicago’s forest preserves.

Marcus and his family usually refer to me as G. He and I have been friends for over 20 years. Besides attending the same high school (Jaguar pride) yet separate colleges, we have always made time to hang out. Marcus was a groomsman at my wedding. I am happy he is joining me in the marriage club. Nowadays, I am a husband, father, and son. I currently live in Texas with my wife and children. Marcus jokes that I'm the most environmentally conscious civil engineer that he knows. However, my true passion is drawing and art.

My name is Nesha. I’m a certified pharmacy technician. I have two beautiful children; I love them dearly. I met Jbee (Jasmine) in 9th grade social studies. I thought to myself... who is this girl answering all these questions correctly??? I have to know her! I saw her in the hallway one day, I decided to intervene when some rowdy boys were trying to flirt. I grabbed her by the arm and the rest is history (lol)! I never would of thought that day we would become best friends.

My name is Brian and I've known Marcus pretty much my entire life. We grew up down the street from each other. While Marcus jokes that I am a man of few words... we have always had each other's backs. That's the real definition of Day One! I'm glad he has found the love of his life, and I'm honored to be one of the groomsmen.

Jasmine and I met in 2015, while we both attended graduate school at the University of Chicago. We worked together as graduate interns, and the friendship grew from there—bonding over late night study sessions and monthly wine nights. She even attended my wedding in Michigan. Marcus and I attended undergrad together (but we never interacted despite having some mutual friends). I currently reside in Chicago and work in university administration. In my spare time, I love traveling, boxing, and biking along Lake Michigan.

I've been fortunate to call Marcus a close friend since our days at Michigan and subsequent years residing in Chicago. At Michigan, we both were frequently reminded by mutual friends how much we were alike and confused for one another if not both present. Only in our latter years in Ann Arbor did we cross paths enough to realize we were so much alike. Birthday twins (Feb 22nd), midwest raised and always ready to talk politics! Having lived in Chicago and NYC, I recently relocated to Portland, Oregon and excited to live out a dream of working for Nike.
