Frequently Asked Questions

As we approach our wedding day, we want to thank everyone considering celebrating with us! We recognize that there may be some questions about the event. New Orleans has recently mandated new COVID guidelines. Below you will find answers to general questions about the wedding and how COVID guidelines will be implemented on our wedding day. We will keep this page updated as details emerge. Please feel free to reach out if you have additional questions are are not addressed in the FAQ.
Question

What are the new COVID guidelines in New Orleans?

Answer

As of Monday, August 16, 2021, the city of New Orleans is requiring everyone 12 years of age and older entering various facilities (restaurants, bars, gyms, indoor group fitness centers, indoor sports and entertainment venues, reception halls, etc.) to provide evidence of having received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine or evidence of a negative COVID-19 test, taken no more than 72 hours prior to entering. This includes the event space where our wedding will take place (The Sheraton Hotel). Please note that the mandate requires PCR tests and these tests often take longer to deliver results. We want our wedding day to go smoothly and for everyone to have a good (and safe) time. Please plan accordingly! For more information on the please follow this link. https://ready.nola.gov/incident/coronavirus/safe-reopening/

Question

Are masks required?

Answer

Yes! There is an indoor mask mandate in New Orleans. Please wear your mask indoors unless you are actively eating or drinking.

Question

Given developments with COVID, how will food and beverages be distributed at the reception?

Answer

The Sheraton team members will provide touchless service for food and beverage items.

Question

What COVID precautions are being implemented at The Sheraton?

Answer

The Sheraton is taking precautions in the public spaces and we encourage everyone to take social distancing precautions as necessary. Maintaining social distancing of 6ft is still encouraged where lines may be involved (for example, at the Front Desk or at Starbucks). Note that there are sanitizing stations located thru out the public space in the hotel. Guests are encouraged to wash their hands often and thoroughly, for at least 20 seconds. Question

What is a "NOLA" Style Reception

Answer

New Orleans receptions are typically not seated dinners. This reception style consists of numerous passed food items at the start of the reception, open action stations and buffets, with an emphasis on lots of food options, beverages, and a highly dynamic and social atmosphere that allows guests to move freely. The venue will have plenty of high top tables with some sit down seating options open for guests. We want everyone to have a great time. Be sure to bring comfortable dancing shoes!

Question

Is There a Dress Code?

Answer

Cocktail Dresses/Semi-Formal

Question

Can I Bring a Date?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to venue restrictions, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally on your wedding invitation.

Question

Are Kids Welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, we are only able to accommodate guests formally included on your wedding invitation. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time, if we could not include your kid(s) on the guest list. Thanks for understanding!
