YES! Please be sure to check the validity of your Passport. If your Passport will expire within 6 months of the trip to Italy, you will need to have it renewed as soon as possible. Do not wait until the last minute! This is listed on here TWICE because it is so important. Get it taken care of well in advance. Here is a link to answer any additional questions regarding renewal: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport/renew.html How about a Visa? There are no Visa requirements if you are staying in Italy for less than 90 days.
We are so excited to be able to host our guests at a venue that accommodates everyone on site! We are able to offer our guests a flat rate for the duration of your stay at Castello di Ristonchi. The cost of the three night stay includes all meals + most beverages + activities. The venue requires one single payment so Skylar will be collecting the room payment. At check-in you will provide a credit card that can be used for any additional purchases (upgraded coffee, cocktails when we do not have an open bar available, snacks from the store, etc.)
Please click the "RSVP" tab at the top of the website where you will select "WILL ATTEND" or "WILL NOT ATTEND". When RSVPing we kindly ask that you RSVP for all members of your party listed. We know this is a big decision - please take all the time you need to think it over and get back to us. The final date to RSVP will be November 1st, 2025 and payment for your accommodations will be due to Skylar by December 1st, 2025. Please note - Ristonchi does not offer refunds once payment is made so we ask that you are 100% sure you will be attending before RSVPing "yes". All payments are final and no refunds will be made. Additionally, you may RSVP "YES" now and pay for your reservation by the RSVP due date. In fact, we would prefer you let us know your intentions sooner rather than later. This helps us with organizing rooms a ton! **A friendly reminder that if you are unable to attend, we would greatly appreciate you filling out the RSVP link and selecting "WILL NOT ATTEND" as soon as possible**
To help out in preparation for your trip, here is a list of items we would recommend adding to your packing list: - PASSPORT! & copies (just in case) - Italian adapters & converters [Italy uses C, F and L plug types] - Ceremony attire (semi-formal) - Swimming suit - Attire appropriate for wedding events & the rest of your trip **Please see the Events tab for recommended attire during wedding events** - Sunscreen & bug spray - Sunglasses - Sandals & slippers, shoes appropriate for wearing on grass - Toothpaste & toothbrush - Hair dryer / straightener / curling iron (check the adapter situation!) - Hair, skin & makeup products - Medical information & medication list - Euros & credit cards - Crossbody bag with a zipper, that you can put in front of you (pick pocketing is big in touristy locations) - We'd recommend downloading google translate on your phone - though most tourist spots will have English menus & servers that speak English - We also recommend downloading Waze and Whatsapp to your phone for ease of getting around and communicating with others who don't have an international phone plan The wedding venue has steamers and hair dryers located in each room. Irons are available for use at the reception desk.
May is one of the best months to visit Tuscany! It is warm and sunny during the day and cools down a bit in the evening. Plan for mid to high 70's during the day and mid 50's at night. Pack a light jacket or cover-up!
The national currency in Italy is Euros. We recommend getting some Euros when you land in Italy. Though most places will accept Mastercard/Visa's. Just make sure you've let your bank know you're traveling and check with them about foreign transaction fees.
Did you really just ask that?! ;) Yes! We will be providing alcohol during most of the events. That being said, speciality cocktails or during the few times we do not have scheduled, alcohol can be purchased on site. These items will be charged to your room and paid in full upon check out.
Please look to your Save the Date and invitation envelope which will indicate "and guest" or the name of your plus-one if you have one.
While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the trip. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home.
The most difficult part is getting there - once you’re there, Europe is rather affordable! Make sure you book your flights in advance (2-6 months). Unfortunately, you are not able to stay at the castle once the wedding is over, however, there are other villas within only a few minutes drive if you wish to stay in Tuscany. If you'd like to vacation past the 3-day wedding, the castle is conveniently located by train to major cities as well as Florence airport with low cost airlines that connect you across Europe. The low cost airlines can be tricksters so make sure you read the fine print! Other tips: familiarize yourself with AirBnB, Europe is full of options with private or shared apartment rentals that fit any price point - tiny studio in Paris or a lavish penthouse with a view of the Eiffel Tower. If you have more than 2 in your group, consider driving rather than flying. Car rentals can run super cheap (be careful to book an automatic if you don’t know manual!) and with a few google searches, you may even be able to avoid a one way drop off fee. Avoid major tourist locations to save extra dollars.
We are so appreciative of our family and friends celebrating with us in Italy. Your presence is our greatest gift.
