İstanbul

İstanbul

İstanbul, İstanbul, Turkey

Please check out the travel guide written by Sinem's mom, Burcu, on travelling to Istanbul/Bodrum! This is located in the "Travel" tab. For guests traveling to Turkey, we highly recommend spending some time in Istanbul, which is where you will need to fly into. You can visit historical mosques like the Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, and Blue Mosque. We also recommend checking out the Grand Bazaar and Dolmabahce Palace if you are interested. There are also modern areas like Galataport and Bebek that are worth visiting and shopping/dining at. We will be in Istanbul for the few days before wedding activities and are happy to show people around! Istanbul airport is also a major airline hub to other regions in Europe, if you want to bookend your travel with another area!

Bodrum

Bodrum

Bodrum, Muğla, Turkey

Bodrum is where Sinem spent her summers growing up at her grandparent's house on the Aegean coast. Bodrum is home to many beach clubs, incredible food, amazing waters, glamorous shopping centers by global megayachts like Yalikavak, and lively nightlife in downtown Bodrum and Turkbuku. We will be in Bodrum starting September 17th. Guests staying elsewhere are welcome to come to Flamm at any point to visit their beach club for no cover charge.

Cappadocia

Cappadocia

Turkey

Cappadocia is a historical region in central Turkey known for its unique rock formations, ancient cave dwellings, and rich cultural history. The area is famous for its "fairy chimneys," which are tall, cone-shaped rock formations created by volcanic activity and erosion over millions of years. Historically, Cappadocia was home to various civilizations, including the Persians, Romans, and Byzantines. Early Christians used the region’s caves and underground cities as places of refuge from persecution. Many ancient churches, monasteries, and frescoes from the Byzantine period remain well-preserved in sites like Göreme Open-Air Museum. Today, Cappadocia is a major tourist destination, attracting visitors for hot air balloon rides over its stunning landscapes, hiking through valleys like Love Valley and Rose Valley, and exploring underground cities. The region's unique blend of natural beauty, history, and cultural heritage makes it one of Turkey’s most fascinating travel destinations.

Yalikavak Marina (Bodrum)

Yalikavak Marina (Bodrum)

No:6 Çökertme Caddesi, Muğla 48990, Turkey

If shopping is the thing for you, definitely check out Yalıkavak marina. Definitely the nicest marina I (Josh) have ever been to, with great dining options around the area. Shopping is expensive and mostly has luxury options, which you might be better off buying in the Istanbul airport to not pay duty if that is your thing. Has my (Josh's) favorite shop, Bluemint, which is what men's beachwear should be. Highly suggest picking up some swimwear if you are a fan of the European cut of summerwear/beach clothes. Overall just a beautiful place to walk around, hang out, grab some food, and look at the superyachts.

For all the days along the way
