Flight
The nearest airports are: Florence (40km), Pisa (115km), Bologna (120km). Although farther away, flying into Rome and taking a train to Florence is another great option. Taking the train from Rome to Florence airports is both easy and affordable—simply hop on a high-speed train from Roma Termini to Firenze S.M. Novella station, and from there, you can catch a quick shuttle to the airport!

We’re excited to share that Ristonchi has invested in exclusive 20-passenger buses to transport guests directly from Florence Airport to Castello di Ristonchi. The airport was chosen as the pick-up location for its convenience, with easy access via a direct tram from Santa Maria Novella train station for just 2 euros, or a quick and affordable taxi ride. By avoiding Florence’s city center, we ensure faster transfers and more efficient coordination with flight schedules. Multiple pick-up and drop-off options are available: Pick-up from Florence Airport to Castello di Ristonchi: • 1:30 PM Departure from airport - 2:30 PM arrival at venue (Friday, August 29) • 2:00 PM Departure from airport - 3:00 PM arrival at venue (Friday, August 29) • 4:00 PM Departure from airport - 5:00 PM arrival at venue (Friday, August 29) • 4:30 PM Departure from airport - 5:30 PM arrival at venue (Friday, August 29) Departure from Castello di Ristonchi to Florence Airport: • 8:00 AM Departure from castle - 9:30 AM arrival to airport (Monday, Sep 1) • 8:30 AM Departure from castle - 9:45 AM arrival to airport (Monday, Sep 1) • 11:00 AM Departure from castle - 12:15 PM arrival to airport (Monday, Sep 1) • 11:15 AM Departure from castle - 12:30 PM arrival to airport (Monday, Sep 1) Please schedule your flights around this window, unless you plan to get a rental car and drive yourself. We highly recommend choosing the bus option, as the Castello is quite difficult to navigate to.
Rental Car
Castello di Ristonchi is 35Km from Florence center. (Around a 60-minute drive). A rental car is the easiest and cheapest way to get around Tuscany. There is free onsite parking for all guests. We recommend Europacar.
House Or Rental
Castello di Ristonchi consists of 30 apartments from studios to 2-bedrooms. Each apartment has it's own private bathroom and kitchen. We look forward to acting as a middleman and working with each of you to ensure that you are fully accommodated during your stay. See the FAQ's for more information on housing and travel.
Travel Note
Your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond the period of stay. You will need proof of sufficient funds and a return plane ticket. Beginning in the first half of 2025, U.S. citizens traveling to Italy are required to apply for a European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) travel authorization for stays up to 90 days. It is linked to a traveller’s passport and is valid for up to three years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.
