Noah and Sophie met during Sophie’s first night out at Miami University—and there was no turning back. They spent the next four years “studying” together and running the Outdoor Adventure Club--where they spent most weekends snuggled up in a tent after a weekend of hiking through Tennessee or West Virginia. They stayed together while Sophie jetted to Tunisia and Morocco for 6 months and Noah began his Navy career. When Sophie returned, they unexpectedly finished their senior year online while hunkered down at Noah’s parents’ house during COVID-19. There, they grew even closer, spending literally 24/7 together. They then decided to move to Pensacola, Florida to pursue Noah’s Naval pilot career. Three years and one puppy later, Noah and Sophie now live in San Diego and are enjoying SoCal life!
Growing up, Sophia Annabella was lovingly called a ¼ meatball, a nod to her Italian roots from her grandpa who immigrated in 1922. Raised in Stuttgart, Germany, Sophia’s family vacationed in Italy often—whether skiing the Dolomites or windsurfing on Lake Garda, Italy quickly became her favorite place. After their freshman year of college, Noah and Sophie saved up to visit Rome together—Noah working long hours at his best friend Matt’s landscaping company, and Sophie babysitting in Oxford. Rome was where they first said, “I love you,” and realized they’d be together forever. Sophie later spent 6 weeks studying in southern Italy, and now her family has discovered they qualify for Italian passports—so who knows, maybe they won’t ever leave! We’re thrilled to invite you all to celebrate with us in this incredibly special place!
Castello di Ristonchi will be the exclusive setting for our wedding celebration weekend. This stunning medieval castle, commissioned by the famous Medici family in 900 AD, has stood the test of time, overlooking the breathtaking Tuscan landscape. Its rich history is evident throughout, with traces of monks, wars, and stonemasons. The castle is surrounded by olive groves, hemp fields, and fruit trees, all nestled within an ancient chestnut forest. We truly understand that a destination wedding (especially an international one) is a big commitment, and we hope that if you choose to join us, you’ll view this as an exciting opportunity to explore Italy— with an unforgettable wedding as the cherry on top! For those attending the weekend, all accommodations, meals, activities, and unlimited drinks will be included in a one-time reservation fee. Transportation to and from the airport will also be provided. Plus, Noah and Sophie are excited to offer extra activities like wine tastings, yoga classes, hiking, and pasta-making lessons to make the weekend even more memorable!
