This region is absolutely worth a visit. When the bride was attending Syracuse University, she passed through this area on her way to school. The Thousand Islands has a unique geographical landscape and has much to offer. For anyone coming from Syracuse, you will pass through this location when crossing the boarder. Meech Lake
Shona grew up running, swimming and visiting Meech Lake (Lac Meech) in Chelsea, QC. Not a far drive from Ottawa, absolutely worth a visit if you have extra time! There are many cute shops and restruants closeby in the area as well!

This location may look like a classic burger joint, but it has the best Chicken Shawrma you will ever have in your life! The owner blends lebanese flavors into the specifically marinated meat and packs in the taste with house made hummus, garlic sauce and fermented turips. This place is absolutely worth a visit!
Kettlemans Bagels – College Square
Needless to say, these bagels will change your opinon of what a good bagel is. American's may think they have the best bagels, but it is simply not true. Nothing beats a Montreal style bagel (the bride will die on this hill). For any out-of-towners, this is an absolutely earth shattering bagel experience! There are many locations, including the O.G in Glebe Downtown Ottawa – but the above location is the closest to the wedding destination.
Nordik Spa-Nature - Chelsea
For anyone looking to venture into the French side of the river into Gatineau park, Nordik is a great option to have a Nordic Spa experience! The location in Chelsea, QC is also not far away from Wakefield – packed full of trails and opportunies to swim in the lakes. This will be about 1.5 hour trip from the wedding venue, but a short drive if you are already in Downtown Ottawa (45-1 hour away from the wedding destination).
