It was a cold, dark and rainy night - ironic for Valentine's Day, no?! Sarah wanted nothing more than to be snuggled in at home, but instead found herself clear on the other side of town. She took a deep breath and walked inside Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club to meet up with a girlfriend. Meanwhile, Tim - who was participating in his third shuffleboard season - had agreed to the Valentine's Day speed dating event as a favor to the RP staff, who promised it would be a great way to meet new cute girls. Neither expected much, but thought it could be fun. The evening sped by in the blink of an eye - Tim remembers vividly that Sarah was shocked it was possible to lose points while playing (the outrage!), and Sarah remarked to her friend on their way home that she thought Tim was pretty cute. By the next morning, a match! Tim texted Sarah, inviting her to Corridor Brewery to laugh about the event and get to know each other better; he quickly discovered that family is incredibly important to her and that her main squeeze was a bunny named Milo, while she immediately realized how easy it was to talk to him and how calm and comfortable she felt when they were together. The rest, as they say, is history. After 18 months, more than 10 vacations across state lines and country borders, "millions" of home culinary successes (defined per Sarah, with delicacies courtesy of Tim), one month of a pandemic in a studio apartment, and endless evenings of pets for Milo, Tim proposed to Sarah on their rooftop with a backdrop of fireworks on June 20, 2020.
