FAQs

Question

Do I need a car?

Answer

Yes, the resort is about a 1 hour drive from Ft. Myers Airport (RSW). You’ll cross a bridge to get from the mainland to the island ($6 CASH toll going to the islands).

Question

Should I bring cash for anything besides the bridge toll?

Answer

Only if that’s your preference. The resort can add any food and drink charges onto your hotel bill. Cash and cards are also accepted.

Question

is there a room block and do I have to stay at the resort where the wedding is taking place?

Answer

There is not a dedicated room block, but if you want to stay at Tween Waters you should call the resort directly to book your stay and reference the Sherman-Gray wedding to receive special pricing. There are also a number of other hotels (and rentals) available on the island. Regardless of where you choose to stay, we recommend staying on the island and not the mainland.

Question

What should I know about the beach? What about the pool?

Answer

It’s typically quiet. There’s a charge for beach chairs and umbrellas (2 chairs for every 1 umbrella) and cabanas (at the pool). Ask the front desk about cost. They can charge it to your room. There are two pools, which are located next to each other in the middle of the resort complex. Food and drinks can be ordered in the pool area. Towels (for beach and pool) are complementary. Upon checking in at the resort, you’ll be asked how many towels you would like and given that many plastic cards. You will then use those cards to pick up/drop off towels at the pool. If it’s after the pool has closed, you can turn in your towels (and get your towel cards back) at the front desk.

Question

Any tips on what to pack?

Answer

We recommend sunscreen, your bathing suit, a hat, and sunglasses! If you plan to go in the water at the beach, we recommend water shoes as this is a shell beach.

Question

Other tips or suggestions?

Answer

Before we drive to the island, we always stop at a Publix (grocery store) or Target and stock up on bottled water, snacks, beach supplies, etc. There are quite a few on the way to the island but only one smaller grocery store and a CVS once you’re there.
