The JBF Foundation
In honor of Joseph Peter Bartzis
The Joseph Peter Bartzis Foundation was formed to bring awareness to Amyloidosis, to help fund research to find a cure, and encourage young adults to receive annual physicals and blood tests. A note from James: Joey B. went to ASU and pledged the Sigma Chi Fraternity. My son Austin (AK), a Junior, took JB under his wing and mentored him. Two years later, my Son Parker (PK) arrived at ASU, joined Sigma CHI, and was mentored by Joey. I had the privilege of becoming close with Joey and his family. He was a warrior, a fierce competitor, and inspired so many with his tenacity and courage. He died 58 days after diagnosis, and the world has never been the same. I loved him and I miss him dearly.
